unplug dryer, no take off bottom panel,use a screw driver or putty knife to remove,there are to clips on top of cover around 2 inches from edge,you'll feel them with tool,push in on them and clips will release, take out lint filter and take off blower wheel duct.clean out lint from duct,now on top of the blower wheel housing you'll see the thermal fuse,part number 3390719,take off one of the wires and read it out with meter,if it's bad change it out,if it's good,pull a wire off of heater and check that and read out the t-stats if you want but i would just change out the part that is bad.also vac out the dryer and go outside and make sure air is blowing flapper open,iblow the vent line out with a leaf blower if it's a long run,you won't believe all the stuff that blows out of there,hope this helps you

I have a Kenmore electric (front load) dryer, model number 84092500 that would spin but does not produce any heat. I tried cleaning/vacuumin the tubing that vents to the outside and resetting the circuit...
The first step of the fix has been done by cleaning the lint filter and the vent system.The next step is replacing the thermal cut-off and the high-limit thermostat both located on the blower housing. It is common that the dryer stops heating when the thermal cut-off blows open due to the failure of the high-limit thermostat to cycle off and regulate the heater temperature. The thermal cut-off cuts power to the heating element should the high-limit thermostat fails and the dryer temperature goes extremely high as a safety feature. The heating circuit is not just composed solely by the heating element, it is composed by the thermal cut-off, high-limit thermostat, cycling thermostat, motor centrifugal switch, and the timer. The first thing to look at when an electric dryer stops heating is the thermal cut-off. It cuts power to the heating element when it blows most likely due to the failure of the high-limit thermostat. How do i change the high limit thermostat on a kenmore dryer # 72822
Unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. Slide the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the dryer vent from the back of the dryer. Loosen the retaining screw on the clamp connecting the vent to the dryer's exhaust port and slide the vent off of the port.
Remove the hex nuts holding the dryer's rear panel in place and slide the rear panel off to the side of the dryer. Locate the high-limit thermostat on the heating element housing on the right side of the dryer. The oval-shaped thermostat can be found a few inches from the bottom of the heating element housing.
Unplug the two thermostat wires by sliding them off of the thermostat's contact posts. Slide the old thermostat out of the socket on the heating element housing.

Heating element in Kenmore dryer won't turn off (cool down) when drying cycle is over.
if one of the coils on the heating element is touching metal this can happen,if the filter is on top the heater is in the back of dryer,you need to remove the vent line and remove the back panel and it's on the right hand side,if the filter is inside then the heater is behind the front panel.you need to remove the heater and inspect it to see if it's broke or where one of the coils are touching metal,if this isn't the problem you'll need a meter to check the thermostats,unplug the dryer before servicing it,but i would check the heater first,let me know what you find

We have a older kenmore dryer that will run but it is not pushing any hot air out what could be wrong?
Hi, Is this gas or electric?
Test the fuse first. Here is how:
UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the fuse. It is white and ¼” wide and 3” long. It is located on the blower housing. Remove the wires and check to see if it has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace it. If this dryer is electric, test the element and thermostats while the back is removed.
If this is a gas dryer, the front panel will need to be removed to test the ignitor.

Kenmore electric dryer does not heat, all else
Normal 0 Hi, UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the element on the right side. Check to see if it has 240V. If it does, you need to replace it. If it does not have voltage, check the thermostats for continuity. If a thermostat is open, it will need replaced.

Dryer not working properly-comes on then goes off and won't start
you can check the high temp thermostat by removing the back panel,it is located on the heater box,remove both wires,put your meter on omns and if you don't get a reading it's bad,if it checks good then the motor is bad,it is overheating and cutting off,let me know what you find-mike
