Flash drive write protect. How do I remove the write protect?

Some flash drives have a manual setting available for turning on or off protection. If not, the on/off protection is et by a software switch. Check with the Flash drive maker for details on removing the protect function. This is not a DELL setting.

A flash drive should operate just like any other drive. There is not write protect switch on it like an sd card. But, if the permissions have been set to be write protected on a given file or folder on the flash drive, then one can remove it through the control panel.

Or remove and replace the flash drive and make sure it has the latest driver running it.

try to format it compleatey and check if there is any button or lock on your flash drive that might be used for write protection......:D

rt click the removal drive ..properties...uncheck read only.....click on the tab security...add everyone ...give full control ...apply ..ok ...it should work now..
