BPM Counter and Effects not working - Please help!!!
I bought a secondhand DJM600 (stupidly did not test before buying!). I can't seem to get the BPM counters working or any of the effects. I have managed to get it in test mode and the BPM counter flashes at 120 constantly and test mode acknowledges all the effects on the display counter.
Can anyone talk me through what to do or point me in the right direction?? Any help at all would be really appreciated.
Thanks for that Vanguardian. I have a PDF of the Service Manual if you need it. Any thoughts on why the BPM counter and effects side doesn't seem to work? Thanks for that Vanguardian. If you don't have the manual it is here:http://www.behringer.de/EN/downloads/pdf/DJX700_P0165_M_EN.pdf Have a look at page 4 under Monitor, mode switch and mix control. You might be having problems with them.
The effects on the PMP powered mixers flash UNTIL you push in on the selector knob. This way you can dial in the next effect number and then push in later to activate when you want it... Could yours possibly be the same technique?
Most likely the fuse for the effects circuit has blown, which happens sometimes on mixers with built in effects.
You'll have to open the mixer as the fuse will be inside the mixer on a circuit board (look around inside where the effects part of the mixer is) replace it with an identically rated working fuse and you should be done.
Most likely internal fuse for effects module has blown. look inside the mixer for the blown fuse (it'll be near the bit that's not working) and replace with a fuse of the same rating,
The CD Mix-1 had a "tap" button for the BPM counter, but the CD Mix-2 doesn't have the BPM feature. They both use the same LCD screens, though, so while you can see the "BPM" on the screen, it is not a function that is included. Why Numark did this is beyond me. I had a CD Mix-1, and while primitive, the BPM 'tap" button worked just fine.
