Small lock symbol on 4GB transcend pendrive

Hi,
1.Close all files
2.Select Transcend Pen drive-Right Click-Format-ok.
3.After formatting you can copy all files upto 4GB.

i have 8gb pendrive i put it into the pc but it is not dectected

there is commonly a small switch on the pendrive somewhere , look carefully they are small, this switch write protects the drive should you wish to protect the data against overwrites for some reason. This is common to usb key drives and memory cards.

Look on the side of the card, there should be a small physical switch.

format your pen drive then check it on some others system

theres a lock on the side of ur device...
move it so that its between unlock and lock
then do wut u want ;)

Hey, the transcend pen drives usually have a small switch on the side of it, ie to turn the write protect on and off, usually a small lock symbol on it, the problem with unreadable files names etc, could be a corrupt partition, i would suggest formatting the drive as long as you aint got any important information on it,

pen drives generally have 3 to 5 years warranty, if your pen drives are not detectng on other systems also, its better to replace it
