Installed drivers but Motion Eye is not even acknoledged
I recently installed Windows 7, but after issues decided to re-install Vista as a clean install as I had accidentially deleted my recovery partition (oh dear, never mind....) I have installed all the drivers & utils from my sony support website as came installed on the Laptop (SZ61MN) HOWEVER.....
My motion eye webcam STILL does not work! In fact it does not seem to be acknoledged at all despite having uninstalled the drivers & re-installed them, just to make sure.......
I try using the Sony camera capture, but have NO IMPUT......
No Luck with Skype.....nothing, in fact.....
Any suggestions please?
I've come across the same situation, restore the Windows partition, to choose a professional recovery tool, I was looking for a lot of methods will not work, finally using a mintiool power data recovery, share the good stuff, why don't you go try itI've come across the same situation, restore the Windows partition, to choose a professional recovery tool, I was looking for a lot of methods will not work, finally using a mintiool power data recovery, share the good stuff, why don't you go try it

Your original Sony customised version of Windows included some dedicated webcam software plus webcam drivers. It is probable that you need both the software and the drivers from the Sony support website. The question is will the software work without you having a Sony customised version of Windows. Usually, it will work so try downloading and installing them. Check here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNFZ220U&upd_id=3092&os_group_id=10
And here. Study the page carefully to make sure you've chosen the correct operating system and that you have expanded the view by clicking "Open File List", etc.

Strivinz : 'M' button became '0' whih means Numeric ON. (numeric : 0123456789) turn it off by pressing FN+Num lock. And for your Operating system...Try using Vista Ultimate (works for my vaio vgn-s270b) or Windows 7 Ultimate (motion eye application might not appear > but you still can access the camera via devices and printers Section.
If anyone is having trouble getting this driver to install on their Windows 7 Vaio, the problem is not the driver itself, but the installer, which does not work with Windows 7. I had the same problem as everyone else, but I downloaded/installed the Universal Extractor (http://legroom.net/software/uniextract) and the driver installer (http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/RIDCAM-14566600-US.EXE). I ran the Extractor on the Driver's Installer, which extracted all of the files. I then executed the x64 installer file (RIDCAM-14566600-US\TEMPEXEFOLDER\DPInst64.exe). This properly updated the driver and my webcam has been functioning normally since. Hope this helps others
Yeah.... i can understand... Simply download the drivers of your MOTION eye from the Website of Sony Vaio laptops... by doing this it will rollback the upgrade and will automatically install proper drivers needed to make it work... RATE my solution it helped you really...
Did u install any other programs anfter your vista instalation? try to uninstall them one by one, My guess is that one of the programs "kidnaped" you camera. By uninstaling one by one you can easy find out witch one it is. After uninstalling one program test your camera. If it works again you that program is the problem.
Windows Vista is not the greatest at working on proprietary machines with drivers intended for XP. Can you get a driver from SONY for the motion eye that supports VISTA? I had Vista on my new machine (Dell) for all of 3 minutes before I uninstalled it and put a brand new copy of XP on. It's stable -- and works. Vista is squirrelly.
