wikiHowGoGear Vibe is one of the newest portable MP3 or music players by Philips. ... end of the data cable and plug it into any USB port on your computer or laptop.Missing: rca tablet
1)Perform a system reset, which won't erase your files, to attempt to correct playback. Locate a thin object, such as pen tip or unfolded paper clip and insert it into the small reset hole on the bottom of your GoGear. Hold the thin object in place until you see the unit shut down completely. Your system has been reset. Power the device back on to see if the corrupted files have been corrected. If the reset failed to correct the issue, perform a file recovery on your GoGear. 2)Initiate a file recovery by first connecting your GoGear to your computer. From your computer's "Start" menu, choose "Programs," "Philips Digital Audio Player," "Area Device Manager" and "Philips Device Manager." The Philips Device Manager software will be activated. Inspect your GoGear to confirm that it is turned off. Plug the small end of the supplied USB cord into the bottom of your GoGear while holding down the "Volume Up." Insert the larger end into a free USB port on your computer. Hold the key as the "Philips Device Manager" reads your GoGear and activates recovery mode. Click "Repair" and follow the onscreen prompts as given by the "Philips Device Manager" to complete the process of memory recovery. Disconnect your GoGear from your computer properly after the process is complete and restart your MP3 player. 3)Reload and replace the files onto your GoGear by first connecting your GoGear to your computer. Plug the supplied USB cord's small end into the bottom of your GoGear and the large end into your comptuer's USB port. Initiate Windows Media Player by clicking on its icon if it doesn't start upon connection with your GoGear. In the left pane of the WMP, click "Philips GoGear Aria." Click the arrow on the top left edge of the WMP window, followed by "Music." Highlight all files, and click "Delete." Click the "Sync" tab on WMP, and drag and drop the music files you would like to replace and reload into the "Sync List" panel. Click "Start Sync." The files will be freshly loaded onto your GoGear. 4)Properly disconnect your GoGear from your computer to avoid memory corruption by first closing all applications in use by the GoGear (WMP). Click the USB device icon in your system's tray (located on the bottom right corner of your screen). Follow the prompts in order to safely remove your GoGear from your computer. When your computer tells you it's safe to remove your GoGear, unplug the USB cord from your GoGear.
Can't. But, you can simply plug in the gogear into a mac USB port and manually drag music into the MUSIC folder. Files must go into that folder for player to recognize them.
The installation CD came with a file called Philips Device Plug-In - it is critical for viewing photos. DO NOT use this player with Windows Media Player 11 if it is a Philips HDD model - you can see the warning by going to their website at www.usasupport.philips.com
I would check Start --> Philips Digital Audio Player --> Philips Device Manager
If it is not there, check to see if the laptop is running Vista. If it is a Vista OS, get the firmware upgrade and updated software directly from Philips website
If you find that the GoGear will not load the firmware upgrade, then: 1) Backup all files on the GoGear 2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) 3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button 4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new You will now be able to load the upgrade Also, if the Philips Device Manager says that your device is already updated with the latest software, then go to: www. usasupport. philips. com,and enter in your model number, SA5125/37, on the next page select SA5125/37 (not "37B"), on the next page click on software and drives, and click on Firmware Upgrade Software - this will ensure that your player really has been given the most current firmware upgrade -Tha Mp3 Doctor
