An employee left, tried to clear mailbox for new employee; mailbox locked; understand all the steps to unlock, except do not know how to "log in" by system administrator. I have the "config" and "6623" password, but it asks for administrator's mailbox and pw... I do not know what the system administrator's mailbox is??? I tried the main unit which is 7300, but that did not work either. I have two people whose mailboxes are locked and need to get them unlocked!!!!
How to Change a Mailbox Password (Administrator Only)
1. To access the voice mail system press "Feature".
2. Press "983".
3. When you see "Log:" enter "120000" for 2 digit extension numbers, enter "1020000" for 3 digit extension numbers.
4. Press "OK".
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number (same as extension number) you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset" softkey.
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
The Default password is "0000".

How do I reset the Operator Status password on the Norstar Voice Mail
System?
Press Feature and enter 985 on the telephone dial pad.
Enter 9.
Enter 73738767793 (RESETSMPSWD)
The display will show Reset OK. Choose YES on the softkey.
Once this is done, this resets the password back to 1020000 ro 3 digit extension numbers, or 120000 for 2 digit extensions. Afterwards try my original instructions.

oh if you have 4 digit extensions your LOG in is 10020000
I should have caught that on the original post, my bad!
after you change the default password for the individual set, the system will ask you to change the password to something else, because it wants you add the security feature of non-default passwords.
Change the password to something you can remember... like 7887 or 1234 or 1379... anything will work.
But if there are issues again, you can aways go back and default the password.
This is more common than you think in most companies.

I get that far but then when i go to that mailbox number it still tells me mbox locked contact admin. I am the ADMIN!!

That did not work. I used both "LOG" numbers you listed and both of them state "invalid password".
This did not work either. It did say it reset my password, so the second part of your instructions worked, but when I repeated the first part of your instructions, it still says invalid password... our extensions are 7319, 7821, 7322, etc... does that make any difference
Just a little more help!!! That worked!!! but default password will not work (0000)... it says password must be changed! But it did unlock the mailbox! I am so excited and SOOOOOOOOOO THANKFUL FOR YOUR HELP.... One more time, please?????
