I asked a question, someone replied and I was notified via email. I click on the link and the question is not found. I log into fixya and show I have never asked a question. Thoroughly confused. Any ideas?

STOP DELETING THIS I NEED A BETTER ANSWER Why does Facebook keep saying that no accounts match the email I entered when trying to reset my password?

No good ranting at us. We are Fixya and have not deleted anything. We are also NOT Facebook and have no affiliation to them.

And if the automated reply says your email is wrong, then it surely is. It sounds like you may have fallen for a phishing attempt and gave someone your log on credentials via a fake website. They have then changed the account email address and password. That very effectively locks you out. Your account will soon be offering a great Cryptocurrency Agent and saying how much money you have made, recommend by what appears to be you. Clever scam and well documented.

Presumably you know all this which is WHY you are trying to change your password, but it is too late.

You need to go into 'Account Recovery' using the alternative email that your set up, or the 'Recovery via Friends' options that were done in advance.

You only 'appear' to be logged in until you try to do something.

Or you have just typed the email address wrong.

Click Comment below here and copy and paste your Facebook Profile URL. Type your email address as well. I will get a notification, and come back to you and acknowledge I have seen it. Then you can Edit that information out or Delete it. I am a Facebook Expert.

Can't Log In to Facebook

Facebook works on two very simple things.

The full email address that your registered with them. This is the one you get your notifications to when someone tags you or you get replies to your posts.

The password associated to that particular account.

If you forget your password, you can click the FORGOT PASSWORD link and a reset will be emailed to you using that registered email address.

Someone may have taken over your account, but that can only happen if you gave someone your log in details, or if you responded to a fraudulent phishing email and you went to a site that LOOKED like Facebook and you gave your information to 'Verify' your account.

You can search for people of your name and if you see a few, keep clicking LOAD MORE, until the name becomes mixed with different surnames or Christian names to yours. Go to Facebook and without trying to log in, put your name in the search box. When you find yourself, log in with your full email address associated with the account and password. If the password doesn't get you in, click FORGOT PASSWORD.

My Mom passed away. I am her son, she an account with you. I think I am on it? I would like some help please?

Fixya is free. Sixya is not. You are posting in Fixya and may query. When volunteers answer questions, an email link is sent to the user's email to notify them. If you are not signed in as you, then the link goes to the mailbox of whomever you are signed in as. You appear to be currently signed in as your mother. That means any reply link is sent to your mom's email address. If would make more sense to have your own account so you would get the notification in your own email and not have to be logging into your mom's email account to learn if you had gotten an answer. Also, remember that any postings in Fixya are replied to by volunteers in disparate geographic locations. You might address the original respondent in a comment field but that person is unlikely to see your comment if you only post a new query in Fixya.

I need to change my email password

Go to your email account, log in and there should be a password, or edit option. With more information, such as the type of email account, someone might've known the exact procedure.

Please click the Comment link to reply.

I was sent an email from Experian to change my yahoo email address. How do I do this?

First off, don't click any links sent to you that you are not expecting. There have been a flood of phishing scams. Open a browser and log into Experian. Then, Check out your account. Again, never click any link asking you to change info or log in via link that you did not request.

Can't log in to facebook since Lycos shutdown

I submitted a request via facebook saying I couldn't login to my email address. I got a reply after about 4 days later asking me for the answer to my security question. I replied to that. i got another mail the following day with the new password and saying that my email account was updated to the new one.

however, before I got the reply, I contacted the social network helpline (www.socialnetworkhelpline.com) you can either submit a form or call them (0906 517 99 89 in the UK). calls cost GBP1.5 per minute, but may be worth a try if you are desperate. I am not sure if that helped or if they would have replied to me anyway, but I think it's worth a try. At least you can actually speak to someone on the phone (and they have access to the facebooks logs, so they can tell you what the status is).

hope that helps
