First, you need a computer with an internet connection.

Next, you need to have some type of music library system on that computer. For sake of simplicity, let's use iTunes. To get iTunes, you need to go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and follow the directions for installing it.

Next, you need to put songs into that library. If you have songs on your computer, there are tools within iTunes that find those songs and put them in iTunes. You can also put CD's into your cd-drive and load them into iTunes.

Next, you will need to connect your iPod to your computer. iTunes should recognize that it's connected to your computer and show it in the devices list in iTunes. At that point you can click on songs and drag them to the iPod on your computer screen.

Click "Sync" to add your songs.
Whether you chose the manual or automatic option for adding songs, click the "Sync" (short for "Synchronize") button on the bottom right of the screen when you're ready to add your songs to your iPod. iTunes should immediately begin to add the songs you selected to your iPod

BTW, if you want to transfer music from iPod to iTunes, just check out this tutorial: https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/3-ways-to-transfer-music-from-ipod-to-itunes-library.html?=1400

Use iTunes to buy and transfer the songs to your iPod. Or if you have a file sharing network like Limewire or something like that, locate the folder the songs save to and drag them to your iPod.

SOURCE: I can't get my songs onto my iPod Nano

The Ipod or the USB cable may be defective.
Try first connecting the Ipod to a different computer to test it, or using a different data cable.

If Ipod works, then do the following.

Unplug computer power cable, and if it is a laptop or a macbook also remove battery for ten minutes. This will get rid of elecrostatic charges on USB connectors.
If that does not work try reinstalling Itunes, this will synch the Ipod again with the computer.

IPod Nanos are portable multimedia players that allow you to playback songs and other content (e.g. video) no matter where you go. They come in a variety of memory sizes such as 4GB or 16GB (gigabytes) and work with iTunes to upload songs. I cant get my music of my ipod nano onto my new netbook? i HAVE A NEW NETBOOK WHICH IS WINDOWS 7 AND I CANT TRANSFER MY MUSIC OFF MY IPOD NANO 4GB ONTO MY NETBOOK?

iDevices (iPod, iPhone, etc) usually can only be managed through iTunes. So the first thing you should do is install iTunes (you can download it off Apple's website).

After installing iTunes and connecting your iPod, you must open My Computer then double click your iPod's icon. Then, click on Tools, Options, and in the View tab check the "Show hidden files and folders" option. You should then see an "iPod_Control" folder. Inside it there'll be a "Music" folder, with all your songs. Just drag them back to your computer.

But remember: you can only manage your iPod's music through iTunes. If you add or change songs on your iPod without using iTunes, these songs won't be recognized.

How to down load a song to my appleipod nano 2gb?

To download songs to iPod nano: m Simply connect iPod nano to your computer. If iPod nano is set to update automatically, the download begins. Important: The first time you connect iPod nano to a computer, a message asks if you want to transfer songs automatically. If you accept, all songs, audiobooks, and other items are deleted from iPod nano and replaced with the songs and other items from that computer. If you don’t accept, you can still download songs to iPod nano manually without deleting any of the songs already on iPod nano. While music is being downloaded from your computer to iPod nano, the iTunes status window shows progress, and the iPod nano icon in the Source list flashes red. When the download is complete, a message in iTunes says “iPod update is complete.” If you set iTunes to download music manually, you can reset it later to update iPod nano automatically. For more information, see “Updating iPod nano Manually” on page 22. To reset iTunes to update iPod nano automatically with all songs and playlists: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source list. 2 Click the Options button and click Music. 3 Select “Automatically update all songs and playlists.” The download begins automatically.

You can download iTunes (iPod should have come with disc). Then you can purchase songs on itunes store and transfer them directly to your ipod. Or, if you have other MP3's, click on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY in itunes, find the folder where your songs are, then click on it. The songs should be in your library. Then just drag them onto your ipod.
