One of you're screens is broken or the F2 fuse has blown.

Check youtube for a video on "how to check my DS lite F2 fuses" there are several available that give step by step guidance on how to do this.

Having checked these (and replaced blown ones) and you're screens are still not working then it is a screen that has blown.

If the bottom screen flashes for a split second when you turn it on then it is you're TOP screen that has blown and needs to be replaced. If it doen't flash then it is you're bottom screen that is broken and needs to be replaced.

Ds lite wont turn on and when plugged in light flashes

Hi,

If the power light only stays on for a second then chances are that the internal fuse has blown (F2).

If you have a warranty then send it off to them for a repair (although chances are there will be a fee due to most warranties not covering liquid damage).

Failing that you can send it to a local repair service... there are many good ones avaliable on ebay.

Or if you have moderate soldering skills and fancy doing a bit of DIY repairing I have written a few guides that will be of great help to you.

You can get the fuses from ebay for a very reasonable price, you will also need a few other tools to take the DS lite apart such as:
a cross head precision screwdriver,
a precision tri-wing screwdriver (avaliable on ebay)
a soldering iron,
solder,
craft knife,
and tweezers.

I would also suggest giving the motherboard a bit of a wipedown with an alcohol based solvent such as "methylated spirit" or "white spirit" just to clean off any chocolate milk residue.

Here are the guides:

Hope this helps, if you need any further assistance you may require please feel free to contact me.

DS Lite turns on for a brief second. Then turns off. If charger is plugged in, the light flashes for a second and then goes off.

This could be two things first try a new battery. You can get on ebay for $2 dollars. If that doesn't fix the problem then it should be a fuse. To get to the fuses you will need to take it apart. If you have a warranty don't send it back. There are a lot of ds lite repair videos on utube. To help you find the fuses.

On power up the green light is on for 2 sec.

problem with the main board inside of the DS Lite. Its not staying on with the voltage being provided. To verify this. Plug your DS Lite into a working outlet and see if it stays on.

If it doesn't stay on then take the battery out and only hook up the ac adapter to it and see if it stays on.

At that point if it doesn't stay on, try to use another AC Adapter to see if it stays on, if it doesn't then you know for sure the main board is bad and you would need to get a new ds lite.

Nintendo DS won't power-up

It sounds like a faulty battery. As it is under 1 year old, it is still under warranty. Return it to the origional place of purcase, who will either fix or replace it.

Switch it on,green light comes on,then goes off, bottom screen flashes momentarilly

This has to do with your power fuze that has over charged. You need some soldering skills to fix this.

DS lite green light comes on, top screen flash, then switches off

Check L2 near the power switch on your DS mobo. That part usually get loosen or taken out when you drop your DS. And usually you can recover it when dismantling your DS.

Wont turn on

I'll quote GBATemp here:

symptom:
the ds lite powers up for a brief instant, but then shuts off
potential solution:
disassemble the lower shell and check the connections of upper and lower displays (all three flexible cable connections).
