If you take your board out there will be a part number on it. Search for that part number and you will find several sites that offer motherboard replacements.

Laptop do not have the capability of a desktop computers that allow you to install various motherboards inside the PC case.
You can improve the performance by installing more RAM and replacing the hard disk with a solid state hard disk.

PCI slots look completely different to PCIE slots, PCIE slots are longer so that can be an indication of which slot the board has..
