But in u r case it appears like a Mother Board Problem.So u better to visit nearer HP/compaq Service Station u can extende warranty for another year if ur previous extended warranty expired within 6 months...there is a provision in HP Customer Support.

no its not a driver you have a video chip getting ready to fail.on the v2000 it intergrated in to the mother board. soon you will be joining many other compaq v2000 and m2000 owners in the search for a mother board compaq has updated part numbers it a whole differant board for these units due to having a common failure rate of the original mother boards.Compaq know there was a over heating of the video chip that leads to failure but has not offered any assistance to there customers.
