Repairing Yamaha psr-12

If the power adapter is not the original adappter- check to make sure the polarity is correct- it should be marked on the keyboard near the adapter socket, and also on the adapter itself.

The keyboard should have an internal fuse- check that. Then with keyboard open, if the fuse is okay, trace the power flow from the power pack and look for broken wires, bad solder connections, stressed components like bulging capacitors, etc. It may have a burned out zener diode in the power supply regulator portion of the main circuit.

I would like to know which transformer I can use with the Yamaha PSR 260? How many AMP's? Volts I know are 10-12.

You should be using the Yamaha PA-3B adapter. The unit draws 9 watts... so at 10 volts a 1 amp adapter would be great. Make sure the polarity is correct.

Yamaha psr e313 can't switch on. The adapter is

Check that your power adapter is 12 volts DC AND MOST IMPORTANT is the center pin is positive... this is reversed of MANY adapters used for pedals, etc. The current rating should be around 1.5 amps. Don't take another techs word for it... check it yourself.

Yamaha psr-280 flashing display no key response or sound. Is it dead??

Your adapter should be a 12 volt DC delivering 2 amps (2000 ma). If the adapter is too small, you will have the symptoms you are seeing. Make sure the polarity is correct. DO NOT use the so called "universal adapters".

The keys are broken and some at no sound can I order the notes and sound kit. Yamaha PSR-295 . Regards Elias

Hi, i think you can. You can go to any of the Yamaha companies around you area and explain to them the problem of the keyboard. They will give you good and quality replacement part for your Keyboard.

Make sure you go to only Yamaha company to avoid getting a wrong part for your Keyboard.Avoid road siderepairsforissue like this,it's more complicated to handle

I guess that will do.

Thanks for using fixya...

Yamaha YPT310 use of wrong adapter fried fuse won't power up

1200 ma provides more power than the 700 ma, and would not be affected by using it on a device that draws 700 ma. The voltage of the charger makes a difference as well as the polarity of the plug. (if it is dc)

If the 700 ma charger is not working, most likely the 700 ma charger is not working
