Insert sim my L6 just says insert sim emergency calls only it was never locked and used to work just fine.. i can put my sim card into another phone and it works fine.. so it must be the L6.. what can i do?

    HAVE AN UNLOCK CODE BUT PHONE SAYS INSERT SIM ,EMERGANCY CALLS ONLY.

    DOES A SIM HAVE TO BE IN TO UNLOCK,ALSO THE UNLOCK CODE IS VERY COMPLECATED .

Try cleaning the sim card slot of the L6 with a pencil eraser, then cleaning it out with cloth. After that you can try again, if it still says insert sim, then you might need to reformat or reflash it, bring it to a mobile phone technician...

How do get my phone off of emergency call
This is a normal behavior when a phone does not have a valid/working SIM card. Without a valid/working SIM card or even without a SIM card, the phone can still be used for emergency call.

Sim card is in but stays on emergency call
As far as I know there are two possibilities to get this error message.One is poor signal of that respective network for which you just need to switch OFF and ON your mobile and the mobile will be able to receive the signal from near by tower.You may also get this error message when you are trying to insert a sim other than which the mobile is locked to.To solve this problem you need to unlock the phone from that particular network or use the same sim to which the mobile is locked to.To unlock your phone you can get unlock code from any vendors online like http://www.wickedunlock.com/supported-phones/rs5wp7/

This happens when no sim-card is inserted or your carrier's network is not available. Try to check the sim-card contacts or put it into another phone and see whether it works there. If the sim-card is defective you generally can exchange it for free in the nearest office of your wireless-carrier.
When the phone says "emergency calls only" it means that the phone has found a network, but it can not register in it due to the problems described above. For emergency calls network registration is not required, it is made for so you could call 911 even without any sim-card installed.

I purchased an unlock phone from China the phone was to work on my network with ATT, however when I put my sim card in it, It says in sert sim card, I can get to the menu screens but it will not let me...
Your phone is locked to ATT network. Every company does that to restrict you from getting any other network. When you insert another sim of another network, your phone gets network lock.
You have to call the current network provider to unlock you from their network. Regards, Biswa.

This things happens to me the.. Check the sim if inserted correctly. If you use sim 2 card slot (bottom slot), the metal connector of sim should face up. When you make a call, be sure you press the sim2 call(P2).

If you use the sim 1 card slot (top slot), insert the sim in facedown manner. When you make a call, be sure you press the correct button for sim 1 (P1)
