My lawn tractor won't start no spark an I have aready replaced the electrical control circuit board. It is a LX277 lawn tractor year 2000 I think. After I replaced the circuit board It still did't start I check wiring from coils to curcit board tested ok. I checked conection again and while probing with test light at curcit board white wire from coils while cranking it started and then it started everytime then on about a month later it started not starting again and has no spark again at either coil.

john deere lawn tractor LX277 I checked for spark with a inline spark tester and has a very very faint spark then I checked for spark
with a spark plug type tester and has no spark
The coil only has 1 wire going to them and I don't think it has any points to check I think it is electronic ign. As I said before I replaced the electronic module part and ign. switch and it still didn't start for a long time then it just started and run thereafter until about a month later when this happen no start again.

I went to start my tractor and when I turned the key on the radio worked and everything seem normal but when you turn the key to start it everything quite working. I have checked the conections on the battery and cleaned them but it still does it . You can let it sit for a few minutes and it will kick back on until you turn the key. It acts like it's loosing ground. What could cause this.

May be the coil is bad. have you checked the spark plug? If there is gas and spark then it will have to start.check the circuit breaker points. is there current in the cb points?

Craftsman DLT 3000 lawn tractor. It won't turn over with a new battery.

Question edited for clarity, 'make model (what it is)'.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

Batteries can be new and not be fully charged. Lots of ideas in the link, but test the starter solenoid first.

..

This battery tells you how to load test a battery, about connection being clean. Also that new batteries aren't always fully charged. He explains the solenoid function

And another good electrical testing video.

John Deere LX277. Engine won't stay running when

I would check the air filter, but I doubt that is the general problem. I would think that would have started the problem, but, You most likely tried to start it "right after you washed it",,,and you might have sucked, (for lack of a better word),,some condensation, "water", into the carb....in which case,,,,best scenio,,,,Spray a bit of carb cleaner into the air intake, but only after you clean",air filter" that before. And if that doesn't work,,,,then you would have to clean and drain the water out of the gas,,,,,and carb...............Check the spark plug too, and clean it,,with ethanol in our gas now,,,,,,,,,,,It can really mess with just about anything.....my car and my lawn mower....are a constant "mess"

Jon Deere mower LX277 won't crank

Try replacing the starter solenoid. If that doesn't do it, try replacing the whole starter.

Tractor wont start

For a small gas engine than won't start, think FAST -- Fuel, Air, Spark, Timing. You've replaced the filters and spark plugs and squirted in some starter fluid, eliminating the simple common fuel, air, and spark problems -- but I because of the backfiring I think your problem is in the timing -- like a sticking valve. Probably more than you want to tackle at home, but might not be as expensive as an engine replacement. Take it to a good small engine mechanic -- best bet is a lawn equipment shop that has been around many years. Drive a little farther to get to one if necessary.
