We have a Whirlpool Accubake range. For some time we have detected a faint gas smell around the range. It never seems to last long and doesn't happen often. We called the gas company and they used their leak detector all around and in the oven and didn't detect anything. For the first time, we smelled gas in the oven even though the range had not been used or moved for a couple of weeks. It has all electronic ignitions. Is it possible for the gas control valve to leak occasionally?
Yes it is possible. a faint smell now and again from a gas stove is normal, as it has many burners to and oven. if smell is not constant, nothing to worry about.
