GB5108 picture is collapsed to a blue line in the center

At your own risk: with set on in cable band: 062597 status will take you directly to convergence tech menu--be careful what you do and if not sure do not go to the menu after and select save.

Can be a case of vertical collapse. If this is the case, then the vertical oscillator and/or the vertical driver circuit are faulty. .

Double images and colors are blurry .Blue,red and yellow wave coming up from the bottom of the screen on the lower left symptom is for busted convergence IC,you must replaced this IC in order that will works better again.STK 392-xxx ICs and it's associated resistor,this resistor automatically change value,can caused truoble even though you change the ICs.If you bring this to a service center they cost you $600 to $700,but if you buy the repair kit you can save more,don't wory it is very easy because there is intallation guide including in the repair kit. Thats vertical deflection failure . Check the solder on the vertical output IC and the Yoke plugs. If that doesnt help you may need a new Vertical IC

'I to am getting only wavy blue lines, no sound, doesn't even show channel indicators. TV was off for 4 days, came home turned it on and ten minutes later this screen appeared, it wont even show the menu screen, different channels or video inputs no sound either.

Try replacing the STK- chips

Hi Shailendrar , your problem sounds like vertical collapse , the whole picture has collapsed into a thin , very bright centre line ? maybe the result of dry solder joints , does banging on the side of the tv temporarily fix ? if so , the circuit board requires inspection for bad solder joints . Alternately the vertical chip/transistor may be blown , replace as required. Cheers T

I just fixed this problem on my neighbor TV. I don't have a manual or schematic, and didn't pay any attention to the reference designators, so I will just have to describe it. The problem was a bad solder joint. Visible thermal fatigue. Looking at the main board, (didn't even need to slide the cassis out). There is a small, narrow, vertical board in the center, adjacent to the yoke connectors with a funny looking little transformer on the very top. Check the connections on that.
