Error f5 is due to a fault in the wash temperature sensor sometimes due to a breakdown or a bad connection. On some occasions the resistance may be damaged. Both the sensor and the resistance are in the wash tub.

Make sure the connector is firmly attached to the NTC sensor upon your intial visual inspection. In many cases, the connector comes loose and causes the error. The f5 indicates a loss of the relay drive circuit. To correct you can turn the power off to the range at the breaker box and wait about 10 minutes, then turn back on. This will reset the board. If the error returns you will need to replace the electronic range control (ERC). The part number for the control is # 338692 price $338.49 at Sears or My price $299.99 delivered.
