It sees the SD card, but it won't store anything on it, nor will it take information from it.

Does your camera support SD HC? Anything above a 2gb SD card is concider a HC; so if your camera can't support HC format then you can not use that card.

Testimonial: "hi,thanks for the quick response,i don,t know if it has what you said.it just says on the bottom of the camera..digimax s600 cyber/630."

    According to this website,http://www.samsungcamera.com/product/pro...

Your digicam is a older model. So it can only use SD, not SDHC, since SDHC is the newer model cards. My recommendation would be take the 4gb SDHC and trade it in for 2x 2gb SD cards.

Try looking in your manual, it should say what kind of card it can use.

How can I find a memory card today for my Digimax S600 camera? Sandisc 4 and 16 Gigabyte do not Work

You need to use SD cards, 2GB or smaller. The S600 does not work with higher capacity SDHC/SDXC cards.

SD cards are getting a bit harder to find, but they should still be available at most department, electronics, or office-supply stores. And, of course, the usual online sources.

Keep getting ( check sd card ) prompt no matter what I do.

Are all three cards 2GB and smaller? Cards larger than 2GB are actually SDHC cards and will not work in the D53.

Unfortunately, you can't. The D53 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. Since this is a hardware issue, it is not something that can be changed with a firmware update. You need to use cards 2GB and smaller.

Your problem is that your camera only takes standard SD cards up to a maximum of 2GB. The card you have bought is likely to be a 4GB SDHC model. SDHC is a later development of SD; SDHC compliant devices can still use older SD cards, but SD-only devices cannot use SDHC. This is a hardware limitation so there is no way at all to use an SDHC card in your camera.

Note that if your 4GB card is definitely an SD and not an SDHC then it's still incompatible with your camera: very few standard SD devices were ever made with the firmware and hardware to handle the different memory addressing architecture used by the larger capacity card. Some cameras did have firmware updates to allow the larger SD card to be used, but yours is not one of them.

Your only fix is to sell your card (or keep it for another device) and to buy a regular SD card no larger than 2GB maximum capacity.

Format error

The reason why is because that particular camera does not support memory cards that big.  Samsung only guarantees compatability up to 512MB, but the max I have ever heard working is 1GB.  If you do buy one, make sure it is a sandisk card as these have been tested and guaranteed to work in that camera.  Lexar may also work, but for sure 4GB is to big and is unsupported.  Hope it helps.  Please dont forget to rate!

'Check SD Card' message

Looking at the manual Samsung only guarantee support for cards up to 1GB so I guess your new card won't work in this camera. Perhaps you can take the card & camera to your supplier and try other manufacturer's cards or just lower capacity.
