JVM1630WB is now muted but there's no mute button!

We just noticed this yesterday. No mention of it in the manual except as an added feature in other models.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

Otherwise, there's been a failure of the piezoelectric transducer (beeper) or the circuit that drives it.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Ge Cafe Over the Range Microwave touch pad stopped making beeping sounds

If the touchpad on your GE Cafe over-the-range microwave has stopped making beeping sounds, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the volume settings: It's possible that the volume settings on your microwave have been accidentally turned off or lowered. Look for a "Volume" or "Sound" button on your microwave and adjust the settings as needed.
  2. Check for a mute function: Some GE microwaves have a "Mute" button that allows you to silence the beeps temporarily. Make sure this feature hasn't been activated.
  3. Power cycle the microwave: Turn off the power to your microwave for a few minutes, then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset the touchpad and restore functionality.
  4. Check for error codes: If there's a problem with the microwave, it may display an error code on the control panel. Look in your user manual or search online for information on what the code means and how to resolve it.
  5. Call for service: If none of these steps work, there may be a problem with the touchpad itself. Contact GE customer service or a professional appliance repair technician for assistance.

How do i mute a panasonic NN-ST67JS microwave

I don't think you can. I see no sound button. Nor is there a code in the user manual suggesting such. At the bottom of page 12 in the user manual, there is a short description of what all the beeping is about. When a pad is pressed correctly, a beep sound will be heard. If a pad is pressed and no beep is heard,
the unit does not or cannot accept the instruction. The oven will beep twice between programmed
stages. At the end of any complete programme, the oven will beep ?ve times.

I don't think you will find the answer in the following: https://soundproofnation.com/how-to-mute-microwave/

Some microwaves have a sound button. Others may off the sound by pressing 0 or 1 a couple of times. Some have controls that put on a child lock, making the pad inaccessible, thus no beeps! If is another way to mute the sound in yours, a Panasonic tech would have to tell you. You might try their support. I just don't think there is that opton in your machine. https://www.manua.ls/panasonic/inverter-nn-st67js/manual?p=12

How do i turn off the sound on a Hamilton Beach HB-P90D23AP-T3B microwave

To mute your microwave, start by checking the control panel. Look closely. The mute function may be labeled as a secondary function of one of the standard buttons. Check these things first:
  • Look for a Sound button. Seriously. It may have been there all along, begging you to press it.
  • Press and hold either 1 or 0. Sometimes manufacturers give these keys hidden, secondary functions.
  • Press and hold the Stop or Cancel button. Like 1 or 0, this key might have a hidden function when held.
Often, pressing and holding 1, 0, Stop or Cancel will either result in turning off the beeping sounds or activating a child lock feature. (Child lock doesn't actually lock the door, but instead locks the control panel so no buttons can be pressed until the lock is removed by holding the button for around three seconds again.)
If none of these work, it's probably best to consult the manual. Even if you don't have a Sound button, there is no Mute function denoted as a secondary function or holding a button doesn't do anything, there is still a chance a mute function exists. It could be a button combination or, like on some microwaves, be buried in a submenu that's not at all obvious how to activate.

If you've tossed the owner's manual to your microwave, check the manufacturer's website. They will often provide a digital version of the manual as a PDF for more recent models. For an older model, you may need to do some digging, but a great start is to just do a Google search for "[microwave brand and model number] manual."
Once you have the PDF version of the manual, press Ctrl + F on Windows or Command + F on Mac to search the PDF for "mute," "sound" or "beep."

Good luck.

I have a High Pointe microwave model EM925RCW and the "buzzer" does not sound when the cook time is done. I've been unable to find any help in the manual or on the internet. Thank you.

You would have to pull the unit, remove the back cover and inspect the control board. Then identify where the buzzer should be located and see if it is even there. It would be labeled on the board something like BZ1. It will look like a button. I am not aware of any units that would have the feature of muting the buzzer.

Space maker xl microwave. No sound button how to turn off mute?

If that feature is available for your model, the owner's manual will cover it.

If not, you can see this video: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=ITHDE-vFaiw

If for some reason you don't still have your owner's manual, here are ways to get one:

Look at the model number tag and find the FCC ID number.

Enter the number (in two parts) as shown on the FCC ID page here:
https://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid

In the list of exhibits, look for the owner's manual. You can download it free.

If it's not there, you should be able to order it via the links on my part ordering page here:

Beneath the time on the clock. The word "mute"

I have 2 possible solutions for you.
1) press and hold the 0 button for 3 seconds. This may only turn the clock display on or off, but may also mute or unmute the beeps.
2) unplug the unit for 30 seconds to a minute. Plug it back in and it should be reset.

Microwave JVM1630

From what you have described, it appears that the microwave oven works fine, except that the beeper doesn't work like it used to.

This could be caused by a couple of things.

First, there is typically a piezo electric speaker that creates the "beeping" sound. It's possible that this part has failed. It's a mechanical device and can break. This part is relatively inexpensive.

The piezo speaker is controlled by the microprocessor board. It's possible that there is a problem with one of the output lines from the microprocessor that is tied to the speaker.

One way to determine which part is defective, is to try connecting another speaker in parallel across the original speaker, or remove the original and try the replacement (least expensive method).

If there still is no sound, then I would suspect the problem is on the microprocessor board. (most expensive method).

If I can be of further assistance to you, please let me know.

Good Luck!
