Have you conected the stereo to 12v + before the key? If you conect the stereo after the key it will not get 12+ to the memory. It needs constant 12v+ to keep the memory...

SOURCE: Local Radio Station Coming Through Speakers

It's called RFI, Radio Frequency Interference.

Certain capacitors in the amp, or on the motherboard can act as radio tuners, as can unshielded speaker wire. Your only hope is to use shielded speaker cables, ensuring that the shield is grounded, and make sure you have three prong (grounded) outlets. Sometimes rerouting your wires behind the PC can help.

Do you have dial-up service/modem. If so the telephone wire is susceptible to RFI in a big way. The RFI can bleed into the PC and cause your situation.

Try reading this artile and see if there is something that can help you in it...

SOURCE: Sendai CD789 radio preset stations

At the back you should have a red, black and yellow (maybe blue). swap the red and yellow over. Yellow = memory [constant voltage] red = live with ignition. Hope this helps. Wayne. Tech Rehab. http://techrehab.t35.com

How are radio stations set on a Clarion car radio (Model DB189RMP). Have bought s/hand car and there is no manual for the radio.

all you should have to do is hold the number button you want to assign for each station down for a number of seconds(maybe the station will flash on the screen or maybe it will beep) and it should set the station in it's memory. Good luck.
