Piggybacking a linksys wrt160n with a westell 327w

I want to add the linksys to my network but i have to continue to use the westell for my dsl. I am tryin to add wireless N fro better coverage to my detached garage. Everything installed ok except it will not recognize an internet connection. Checked all cables. All ok.

I have Verizon DSL service on my Westell 327w. It

whenever the connection drops, is the DSL light blinking?
because, it is just normal for the E1 light to blink, but the DSL light should be solid at all times.

It can be a possible issue with the cable or the LAN card, but you still need to have your line checked by Verizon to make sure that it is not a modem or a network issue.

I have switched to a Westell VersaLink 327W from a older Westell Wirespeed. The Wirespeed communicated via USB and the new Westell communicates via Ethernet. How do I get the computer to see the modem?

If you are using a Westell DSL modem with ethernet connection, then you connect the modem's ethernet port to the computer's network card. This also uses an ethernet cable. Good Luck

Connecting new Linksys WRT160n to existing modem Westell 7500

You have to call your internet provider and ask them to help you put the Westell modem in "Bridged ethernet" mode. This will by-pass the Westell modem and use your linksys as the wireless.

Changing from DSL to Road Runner Turbo

I'm sorry to say but you cannot bypass the modem capability of the DSL Westell Modem/router because that is really made to function as a DSL modem and a router at the same time, so the best way to make everything work here since you change from DSL to Cable internet just need to get a wireless router like a Linksys WRT54G that can make everything work again like before.....
