On mine, nothing "clamps down". There are 3 positions in the plastic rack into which you can insert the wire rest - "F", "H", and "A". God knows what they mean (I think the one rack is intended to be used in various dryers, of different depths), but if I use the rearmost position = "A", the back end of the wire rest rests on the non-moving rear of the drum, and the front of the rack rests on the lint screen holder. Seems to work, but the instructions leave a lot to be desired.
I have the 3 positions too. When I put it in F...it's too short, H doesn't have a hole and A is too long. I am so confused.
I just tried mine again and had to be re-trained. The key is to assemble the wire frame onto the plastic rack and then put the whole mess into the dryer. It doesn't look like it's going to work, but it does.
I added some pictures to my original post which may help (or not). They didn't get inserted in the right order, but here's what they are:
1- Rank and frame assembled; 2- Rack and frame; 3- Frame being placed into hole(s) in rack; 4- Frame folded down, but not locked into rack; 5- Frame and rack snapped together; 6- Going into dryer; 7- Frame resting on back of drum, rack resting on lint filter.

The dryer rack is shipped in place in your dryer. Remove and
discard any packing material before use.
Use the TUMBLE FREE Heated Dryer Rack for items that you
do not want to tumble dry, such as sweaters. When you use the
heated dryer rack, the heated air inside the dryer flows in a
concentrated pattern to allow efficient and uniform drying.
Use Timed Dry to select the desired time.
NOTE: Do not use Auto Cycles with the dryer rack.
To use the heated dryer rack:
Do not remove the lint screen.
1. Open dryer door.
2. Place dryer rack over the bottom of the dryer door opening.
Rest the back wire on the dryer back ledge. Push down on
the frame front to secure over lint screen.
3. Place wet items on top of the rack. Allow space around items
for air to circulate. The rack does not move, but the drum will
rotate. Make sure items do not hang over the edges or
between rack grille.
4. Close the door.
5. Select TIMED DRY and MORE TIME or LESS TIME. Reset
time as needed to complete drying. Refer to the following
table.
6. Select the desired temperature setting to match the fabrics in
your load by pressing TEMPERATURE. Items containing
foam, rubber, or plastic must be dried on a clothesline or by
using the Air Dry temperature setting. Refer to the following
table.
7. Start the dryer.
NOTE: You must remove rack for normal tumbling. To remove the
dryer rack, lift it straight up and out of the dryer.
NOTE: Check the lint screen and remove any lint accumulated
from items dried on the rack.

The wire legs are adjustable. Flip the rack up side down and squeeze the wire legs towards each other then swivel them to remove them. Adjust the legs to "A" position (There are 4 positions-mine fit the "A" position) so that the horizontal wire leg fits across the back ledge if the dryer.
Good luck!
I have the same issue. However after following the instructions, to the "T," the rack will not clamp down, is there somethign I am missing?
