My asus wl - 520gc router just stopped working. 5 green lights are on solid (Lan 1-4 and Wan) on/off + air are off. all cables are unplugged but the lights stay this way. I unplugged the power and plugged it back in and still have the same problem. I have tried to reset the router and nothing. my laptop says that the a network cable is unplugged when I plug in the cables. Everything was working fine. For some reason the router just stopped working after I launched explorer and read something on msn.ca. I've used the modem for about 8 or so months before now with out any problems (other than not getting wireless to work, but that is a seperate problem)

The power source of your router does not deliver the needed current (1Amp) to yoru device. Try to replace the power source of your device (just borrow one from a friend) and test it out. I had same problem with an ASUS router. The router itself should be ok, only the power source has an issue.

I cannot reconnect with my ASUS WL-520GC Router after blocking a mac address. While it was reconfiguring the new setting the connection was disconnected before it was finished. Now it has stopped work

You will need to do a "hard reset" which usually requires you to hold in the reset button (30 sec) as you turn on the device.

They always warn against changing settings over the wireless for exactly this reason.

I cant open my WIRELESS ROUTER |WL-520G - RT (WL520GC) on my browser; if i open the default gateway the isp modem settings pops out not my asus router seting... pls hep

Hi!
I tried to figure out some explanation, and I think it's possible that both WAN side of the router and LAN side of it have same types od ip adresses, maybe the default 192.168.1.***. That means that the WAN port of the Router, the ethernet port of the modem, the wireless and LAN ports of the router have same tuype of adresses, maybe all asigned by DHCP.
To be sure, I suggest you to:
1. turn of the modem
2. check that the network connection obtains ip adress automatically
3. in a dos prompt (START - RUN -CMD) type IPCONFIG, it will return among other infos the adress of the default gateway.
4. now type that adress in the browser.
5. if it works, log on to the router and change the LAN settings so that the adresses used in the LAN will be different from the WAN, let's say 10.10.10.1 and so on

Not sure what really happened, but it appears that my ASUS 500g Premium router is frozen. Was working fine yesterday, but not today. LAN 1, 2, 3 and 4, and WAN lights are all on. Power and AIR lights...

reset the router, push the tiny reset button. If it doesn't work, call your ISP (if it's a modem/router) ...or if it's a secondary router, get a new one?

I'm trying to get my Asus WL-520GC wireless router to work, but when I connect the Cable modem via the WAN to the router then the Router to the PC via the LAN, I can't get internet, so obviously something...

Try rebooting the computer, if it does not pick up an IP address. Try taking the router out of the mix. If the computer gets an IP address from the modem then you need to reset your router. If your PC does not connect straight through the modem. Call your provider to make sure they are communicating with the modem. If they are communicating then you need a new NIC.

Can not get my adsl modem to connect through ASUS wireless router

it could be the modem and the router has the same ip address. the asus router has an ip of 192.168.1.1, check if the dynalink modem has an ip of 192.168.1.x. if so, change the router's ip to 192.168.x.x (e.g. 192.168.2.1) then see if you'll be able to connect to the internet while the modem is connected to the wan port of the router

Wireless router setup

is the problem that "nothing coming from the modem to the router"
if the router has more than one Lan port try the cable from the modem to the router, in the first lan port or the last port.

if its a wireless problem, ensure wireless is enabled on the laptop and the router,if you set up a security key ensure that it is put into the laptop wireless setting

sometimes you need to turn on the modem first then turn the router on after a little while to sort the ip address out before trying to connect the laptop, in the first instance.

hope this is of some help but more info would be good

good luck
