Word/Excel/Notepad docs will not print in black ink, will print in all other colors (incl those that require black ink) and everything else not Office product will print in black--new problem

It is the Setup in your software.

First of all check this:
Go to CONTOL PANEL-> Printers-> select your printer if there are more than one listed.
Right Click on the name of the printer
Left click for the following:
Printing Preferences-.> color
Make sure the Color is selected and not the black or grayscale.
Click Ok
Exit from the menu
When you choose the color option it prints color & black
If you choose the black option, it prints everything in black.
Some software overrides it.
Please go into Word, Excel, Notepad etc and check the Printer Preferences are set to color not black.
