1. Model number is WS-55807? 2. If so, when set shuts off--engage self check: On the front of the set hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons in for 5 seconds and release both; set will blink(the power light) a two digit code; for example: 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks. Set will usually repeat the code up to 10 times. Let me know what error code you see and I will tell you what it means. SD TECH

It the power light comes on for 1/2 second and then turns off, you have bad convergence chips, part number stk 392-570, or stk 393-110, you also have one or 2 blown 5 amp pico fuses, common repair, but you could not do it yourself unless you are a qualified tv repairman.

Can not control the volume on an rca

Ok to reprogram the remote and this only works if you just use the remote for the tv and the receiver. Like i was saying to reprogram the remote hold the tv button till all the top lights flash, then push the red power button, then hit the up arrow button slowly til the tv cuts off, once it cuts off hit the pound (#) button. The top lights should blink three times, that should reprogram the remote, If it is a tv/vcr combo or a tv/dvd combo then there isnt a code for it. Also there is a series of years that the rca tv's wont take a full code and u can just control the power and the tv channel

The power light flashes 3 times the pauses, then three times again. No Picture. If I unplug the power and plug it back in then hit the power button it acts like it trys to come on then pops off and fashes...

Thats the error code for Convergence shutdown. You can get the PT53WX53 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which is the correct one for your model. The kit contains the parts and the CD with instructions.
