Cannot connect to internet via lan but can connect via wifi need to have my lan working i live in a apartment but i cant have a router set up

the modem works
the router works great, internet ok, all things toys cell phones work on wifi and via ethernet
you know your wifi credentials and SSID name.and TV is not too far from router.
then I want TV to work and stream Netflix,.
so reading the TV manual it says to go to setup and setup LAN connections and it shows you your SSID name, there,
you enter the password and your router is happen and TV connects.

To turn on wifi connect the power cord from your routers to the power outlet box then connect a computer to one of the rg45 or LAN of your router check the manual of your router for setting by using your browser with the ip specify on your router's manual eje: http:\\192.196.0.1:80 on your browser it dependent the manufacture of your router. And locate it the right setting or power ciacle the router by turning it off or desconnecting from the out let for 5 minute and make sure your computers have wireless on look by the button sing of wireles on your computer hold it and let go until you see the wireless light

Yes you can connect the LAN ports with a network cable from your 3G router to one of your old router LAN ports
Before connecting the 2nd router:
Check it does not have a conflicting IP.
Check it is in the same subnet
ie if 3G router is 192.168.0.1
Set old router to 192.168.0.10
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway is 192.168.0.1
DNS 192.168.0.1

Set DHCP off on 2nd router.
Set WIFI to Same SSID, same password and authentication
ensure it is on a different channel though.(not automatic on either)

Finally just to make sure remove any WAN settings from your router, any old ADSL config etc so that it doesnt think it is a gateway.

A router is only used to connect devices together in a LAN (local area network). In order to get out to the internet you also will need a modem (cable or dsl depending on your service) You will also need to pay for service through an ISP (Internet Service Provider)

ok first prep. we need to configure your router. to do that we need your compaq laptop directly connected to the dlink via ethernet cable. after securing the connection, try to open a browser, whether internet explorer or mozilla firefox. go to the address bar and type in, 192.168.1.1 it would ask you now for a username. username is " admin " password is " password " if it wont let you in, try "admin" for password. if it still cant, try to live it blank and just click on login. it would take you now to the dlink router page. there you can configure your wireless connection and set your network name. make sure to click apply settings after configuring it. then try to check your wireless connectivity again. this should work.

Requirement to setup a wifi internet connection
1. Modem (Provided by ISP - Internet service provider) 2. Wifi enabled Router (It has to be setup with modem to access internet, ie Modem and router connections using an Ethernet cable) 3. Computer with Wifi LAN adapter ( For receiving wireless signals from Router)

when going wifi
you have to go to internet connections or options in the control panel and click on the LAN settings button
the wifi modem will have a security code on the back and the wifi connection area code
click on the found area code on the back of the modem then enter the security code

Your router has an lan address or IP. Something like 192.168.1.1. This is what you must connect to. Each of the machines you want to connect must have (in this example) an IP number between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.225. As long as your machines all have a unique IP they should all connect to your router. Your modem will have a gateway and typically this will be something like 10.0.0.1. So setup for one machine may look like this [192.168.1.3 subnet 255.255.255.0

To find these setting, click on your lan connection, select "properties" and choose "Internet Protocol TCP/IP". Here you will see these settings. Your router guide will give you these settings, make sure you get them from your router guide.

what kind of connection do you have? and to what? I assume you have an ADSL(high speed) connection to the internet, and are trying to connect wireless to a laptop or something. what kind of devices are you trying to connect together? this will help with an answer.
