Replacement lid My lid shattered in the dishwasher.  Is it possible to buy a new one?

In that case it was either cracked or had a stress on it after being washed the last time. Because of the dome shape to it, they are fragile at times, especially if they are put in the dishwasher.

Stop using it. My shattered and actually kin of exploded. Get a new crock. Believe or not, go to your local Goodwill Store! They have tons of crocks and the lids and the cookers separate frm each other that have been donated becase one of the pieces was broken and they donated the rest of the pieces. Lids and crocks typically range from $1.99 to $5.99 and you benefit your community at the same time.

check the thrift store (goodwill, Etc). Measure the diameter that the lid should be to fit the pot and perhaps a glass lid from another appliance will work. Or, even a metal pot or pan lid (better than nothing)

ince replacing the lid and knob will cost several dollars plus postage I recommend purchasing a new one. That way you have new electronics and a warranty which will assure that you have a cooker for at least a year.

there is a recall but only on the base, they will only replace the base not the lid. here is a link where you can purchase a new lid, however if since there is a recall I would send in the base to get a new one while your waiting for the new lid. good luck!

No, dont throw it away!!! You can use tin foil as a lid - I do this all the time as my lid shattered too and it works perfectly. You dont have to adjust times or anything.

Take it back to the shop you bought it from with the packaging if you still have it, and the receipt which you will need. If you don't have the receipt anymore try contacting the manufacturer, they will be able to determine if it is still in warranty from its serial number.

It could be vibration inside the dishwasher rather than heat that caused it to break though I would say it happened while cooking when you return it in case they try and make out that is isnt dishwasher proof
