I have a KitchenAid dishwasher model#KUDC25CH.The problem that I am having is the touchpad control panel all of a sudden is lit up like a Christmas tree. Just about every red indicater light is lit. The DW will run but I dont know what kind of wash it is performing or at what stage the cylce is in. I have tried canceling the cycle,I have tried child lock/unlock,I have cut the power to the unit for a few minutes hoping the computer panel would reset itself. I am affraid to run the unit in fear that it might short out or cause a a fire. I know it is an older unit, however,it hasn't actually been in operation more than two(2)years because it was used as a nonfunctional display at a kitchen design showroom in my town that had to go out of business.

SOURCE: I have the KitchenAid undercounter

Did you try holding the energy save button for 10 seconds I thought that was how you were supposed to unlock the child lock on the unit. Also did you try unplugging the unit as well for 7 minutes this usually causes the control to reset in the unit. I await your reply to how you make out with these suggestions. If this does not work then one or more of the pads on the control panel is stuck and if this were the case then you would have to replace the control panel if you have any further questions message me back. Thanks Rick

Heating Element

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Touchpad

If the buttons don't work on the control panel, the dishwasher touchpad might be at fault. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.

Main Control Board

The dishwasher has a main control board which regulates nearly every function in the dishwasher. If the control panel buttons don't work, and other causes have been ruled out, the main control board might need to be replaced.

The dishwasher will not work. It appears to have no power.

Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the lower front panel of the dishwasher. If the issue returns after its cleaned then try to reset the dishwasher control by pressing the HEATED DRY button and hold it for 15 seconds, if its still not resolved then it means that the control board has gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

No power on kitchenaid kudc25 dishwasher

I have the same problem on my 2000 KUDC25CHSS1 DW. I thought it was the control board so I replaced it ($150). No dice. Still have the same problem. Since the next step is to replace the keypad ($450), I am having someone come out an take a look.

Couldn't find a tech sheet in the unit. Found one online, but there is not much in the way of diagnostics in it.

Is there a removable filter on the KitchenAid KUDC25CH

Again, check the routing of the drain hose. The drain hose should belooped up in the cabinet under the sink. If it is not the water may be backing up into the Dishwasher

KitchenAid model KUDS25SH (Stainless) latch has come loose.

Remove the six or seven screws that secure the entire control panel to the door (screws are located inside of door around the top. Pull out the control panel and the door latch mechanism will be right there for you to work on.

Kitchaide Dishwash Door

There is normally 2 heavy springs & cables that control the "falling" of the door located in the bottom of the machine or it the door itself. Sounds like one (or both) have snapped.
