Date time stamp

I need the Date/Time stamp to be on, so it displays the date and time info on the photograph. In the settings, the option to turn the date stamp on is there but not accesable. How do I turn this setting on?

The camera must be set in the Postcard mode under the resolution setting (L, M1, M2, M3, S, Postcard) on the function menu. Press Function, scroll down to bottom, then scroll to the Postcard mode and press the Set button.

Testimonial: "Fantastic! I've been trying to sort this out for ages, and that has done the trick! Cheers :) "

How do you set the cannn 500d to date stamp pictures that you view

If you want to see the date /time info while viewing the pictures on the camera, you can change the display settings, press the DISP button, till you see a smaller picture and the date and time on the bottom of the screen.
If you want the date and time printed on a picture, you should use the pict bridge option from the camera and in the setup you should chose the setting for that. See page 165 and following from the manual.
But the simple timestamps of the yellow or orange stamps like in the older digital cameras, won't work.
Because the camera keeps a all information stored in the EXEF part of the picture, it won't destroy the jpeg it produces. If you really want the date and time imprinted, you should use a program on the computer, to use the date and or time info and brand it in the picture, before saving it.
Be aware all pictures do have the date and time info in them and most viewers on the computer (whatever OS) will show the info when asked, anyway.

How do i remove the time and date at bottom right corner of picture.

Manual can be downloaded free from here ....

http://safemanuals.com/annexe_POWERSHOT%2020A550%2020CAMERA%2020USER%2020GUIDE%2020ADVANCED%2020_CANON_POWERSHOT%20A550-_E.htm

Basically the date stamp can be turned on / off as an option on the RECORD menu. Page 33 of the manual explains it (with pictures).

Note that if the option is turned on, it states that the date / time is permanently embedded in the picture.

Hope this helps

Displaying time and date when printing

The date/time cannot be deleted once it is embedded in the image. To turn off the date/time deselect the date/time stamping by following procedure:
These instructions explain how to insert the date in images.
attention:
  • The [Date Stamp] cannot be deleted from the image data once it has been recorded because the date is written in as an image.
  • When selecting [Date Stamp] , [Recording Pixels] is set to 1600 x 1200 pixels and the compression (image quality) to [Fine].
  • When the shooting mode is set to <Movie> (g0029623.gif), settings for inserting the date and time cannot be made.
  • The following explanations are provided based on the assumption that the [Shooting Mode] is set to <Program AE> (g0034813.gif).

1. Press the <Power> button on the camera.

Cannot turn date stamp on in menu settings.

Date stamp is only possible when you set the resolution (picture size) at "Postcard 1600x1200" option, if the date stamp is set to "Date & Time" or "Date" option

Time and date display

I have the same camera and the only way to do this is to first, Make sure you have set the date and time correctly on your camera. Take a picture or View picture you want date & time stamped. Press the circular 'Menu/Set' button Press down arrow to playback mode Press right arrow on 'text stamp' Choose whether to apply stamp to single or multiple photos Press 'Menu/set' to select photo to stamp. Choose which stamps to add. Date, time, age etc.. Press 'Menu/set' again and select 'Yes' in box. The only problem with this is that it will resize your photos to 3m, which can make them grainier if you took them at a higher res. Gillian

Show the Date stamp on the picture

One reason why the date stamp is not showing would be that you have not set the system date/time. The date/time resets everytime you take out the battery. Please go to this link and download the userguide... http://alpha02u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 file name : PSS500IXUS500CUG-EN.pdf ...Go to page 26 which will tell you how to set the date/time and then go to page 109,113 for the date/time to be displayed on the photographs. Please tell me if this helps
