My yamada dvr 9000h isn't recognising blank discs, whenever I put a blank disc in it says No Disc. I've tried several different blank discs and keep getting the same "No disc" message. Could you please help as I need to transfer a program from the hard drive to disc for my dad to watch. Many thanks x

I've had this problem with trying to record on CD-Rs also. DVD and CD recorders can be very fussy. You just have to get a piece of dust or a fingerprint on the CD or DVD that's being recorded onto and it gets kicked back as a check disc or blank disc..
Another problem is some recorders will only accept certain brands. I've had problems recording onto a SONY CD-R with a SONY recorder! So, in summing up, try a different brand or make sure the disc is clean. Sometimes just taking the disc out and putting it back in in a different position will make the recorder think it's an OK disc. Hope this helps.
some will not reconize generic disc and i hate to say this but keep trying using another disc sometimes although new disc will not be formated like they are suppose to be.
