Cannon Powershot A720 Low batter

Digital cameras are very demanding on batteries, for example if a new alkaline battery doesn't work long in a camera, the same battery will often work fine in other devices such as a flashlight. The newest high quality rechargchables work great.

Hi, 1st you must use alkline bat or minimum 800 mhp bat....
and if problem is not solved then cheak the bat cap and connection clean with aomthing,,,,

Make sure that you use the correct type of batteries some cameras prefer Alkaline or Zinc Carbon both at v1.5 some only can take 3 rechargeable Nickel Cadmium (Nicad) Cells at 1.3V (3x1.5v= 3.9V) or one Lithium Ion at 3.6V

Be careful if you put a 1.3V NiCad Rechargeable in a camera that was designed for 1.5 Alkaline it can damage the camera and you may experience similar problems to that you have now.

Always check that you are using the recommended batteries, this is why most manufactures supply there own Lithium Ion 3.6V rechargeable K type cells to avoid this type of problem.

It's the last option at the bottom of the Setup Menu. Check out this link... It's about half way down the page, below the Record Menu functions.

Hi, Has anyone resolved this issue yet, I have a powershot s2 IS with the same issue - i replace the batteries with brand new duracell's and it says replace batteries i reseat the batteries and it works for a few pics if im lucky then says replace batteries again - any help would be appreciated - Canon offers no solution.

Clean the battery holder with a pencil eraser, otherwise go for good brand rechargeable battery AA 2700 mAh try it.

Where do you live? Look up Canon on your computer and find out where they are located. The nearest one to you.

If you are trying to get the date/time displayed in your images, you need to set the recording size (L, M1, M2, M3, S, Postcard) to Postcard. You also need to turn the Date Stamp on in the Recording Menu (Use the Menu button, select the recording tab -- silhouette of a camera, and scroll down to Date Stamp).
