Hello Michael, for what you comment, you have connected the X-Box to the Yamaha through a Digital-A converter
First try another sound source, example FM, if you also chop the right channel, the problem is in the audio output of the Yamaha
If FM is heard properly, then try replacing the RCA RCA cable between the Digital-A converter, if it still continues, change the input on the Yamaha and if it still follows the fault, replace the D-A converter
I hope you can solve your concern
Greetings Franco Dosil

Espero puedas resolver tu inquietud

SOURCE: Setting up a Yamaha RX-V690 home theater system

you almost have the exact same situation i am in. i have the same receiver, and going to purchase a panasonic 50" (th50px75u). i think what i will be doing is running a hdmi from my hd cable box to my tv, and installing an audio cable (red/white) from my tv to the receiver. i believe there is an audio input below the hdmi insert. i have polk audio, but theyare about 10 years old, they sound great, but just too large....and may be purchasing a harman kardon system. which models do you have from polk? i have the rt16's, cs350ls center, and fx/500 rears. let me know what you have come up with as well...as it has been a while since you posted this.

cheers,
sean

SOURCE: No Picture from Component Input #1 or #2 but do have audio via Surrond Sound

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

SOURCE: My Yamaha receiver model rx-v565 audio is putting

Do not run HDMI to your receiver. Run Digital Coaxial or Optical from cable box to your 565. The problem is on many levels. Hardware, Software, Audio Codecs, etc. your receiver is HDMI version 1.1. The current version is 1.3b. You can thank the recording industry for copyright protection for this issue. To have your receiver updated would be Very expensive and not worth it. If you want a blow by blow explanation of all HDMI's issues, Google HDMI forums or problems, and you can read for hours. Hope this helps.

Have a Sony 32" Bravia TV & Yamaha RX-V5000 Receiver. Unable to get the sound to come from the Stereo speakers connected to the RX-V5000 if watching TV. However, can get the Radio to play through the TV...

You probably want to connect the av Audio output from your tv and connect to the RX-V5000. The audio that you are getting from Radio through the tv is probably coming from the output of the RX-V5000 coming to your tv, to which the desiredd route is the other way.

The Outputs at the back should be labeled to tell you which channels are inputs or outputs.

How to connect my bose 901 to rx-v2200

You can do this however you will need a separate power amplifier.

See notes here: https://deercreekaudio.com/blogs-%26-updates/f/connecting-your-eq901-to-an-audio-video-receiver-avr

  1. Connect the pre-out main left and right to the EQ901 inputs 1 and 2, and the EQ901 outputs 1 and 2 to the power amplifier inputs left and right
  2. Connect your 901 speaker to the power amplifier outputs
The equalized signal will now play through the front left and right speaker outputs in the stereo and home theater modes.

Yamaha RX V690 keeps shutting off

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

I have a Yamaha AX-V690 receiver but I do not have a remote control. Can I buy remote for this unit oris there a universal remote I can use? Thank you. Plz reply to: [email protected]. Thks.

You can purchase a remote for it if you would like. The part number for that remote is: VS713700 You could also use a universal remote if you would like. But keep in mind that most of the inexpensive universal remotes only support the major functions such as Volume, Tune Channel, etc.
http://www.remoteyard.com/yamaha-vs71370-vs713700-rx-v90-rxv90-rxv900-rx-v900-en.html
This is a replacement, but this particular remote is pretty expensive, and you could probably get a nice universal for that price (the lowest I found it was $69.95). Good luck, hope I have helped!

I have a Yamaha RX - V665 and the right rear surround works only part of the time.

Start by using an old test speaker and connect it directly to the right surround output with a short wire and monitor it.

If it sems to work with no issues, you either have a bad connection at receiver or speaker, or a break in the speaker wire somewhere.

If you have the same problem with the test speaker, you have a rgt. rear output issue in the receiver and it needs repair.

Hope this helps

Yamaha RX-V690 powers up and turns right off??????

Hi...
All the speakers are connected at both ends?
If so, you have a power amp electrical break.
Not an easy fix.
