Lift up plastic caps located on ends of hindge behind seat. use flat screw driver and hold the nut under the outside toilet rim with your fingers or a pair of pliers. Do not over tighten or might crack the bowl.

There are only plastic covers at either side, no nut.

New toto promenade toilet tank lean forward and plumber put putty tape where it has contact with tile and bottom of toilet base.. Also alot of play in elongated toilet seat? please help

Tighten seat nuts, they are underneath, you will have pop open the tabs covering seat screw to hold it. If the toilet was level before tile saws installed call tilers back. The closet bolts may have come loose or closet flange is broken.

Toilet seat cover became loose on one side

I have a Toto Dorian 1.6 Gpf where the right side of the cover separated from the seat frame. I fixed it by removing the seat from the toilet base and driving the stainless steel shaft back into the cover hibge holes.

To remove the toilet seat, use a large phillips head screw drive and unscrew the two long screws that hole the seat to the base.

Then you will see the two steel rods about 1/4 inch in diameter that have worked there way out of the seat hinge. Use a hammer and a screw driver to drive these two hinge pins back out into the toilet seat cover hinge holes.

Replace the toilet seat and screw in the two seat screws being careful to not over tighten them. The seat should now work correctly.

Loose toilet seat

If the screws don't tighten the either the screw threads are stripped or the attachment nut is stripped. Take the screw and nut to any hmoe repair center and get new ones. remember don't over-tighten then screws as this will crack the unit.
