Sounds like you are only getting 120 volts to the range. If your house has fuses, check for one of the 50 amp ones out. Best if you have a way of testing voltage. Could be a loose / poor electrical connection at the range power recepticle where the cord plugs in, or where the cord connects to the range. Of course it could be in the range wiring or possibly in the range control, but that is not as likely. Get a voltage meter and find out where you are loosing the other half of your 240 volts.

Where do I locate the fuse for GE Profile electric range Model J BP79 A0B2AA?

The fuse for a GE Profile electric range model JBP79A0B2AA is usually located behind the control panel, near the power cord. You may need to use a putty knife or thin flathead screwdriver to gently pry the control panel away from the wall before accessing the fuse.

GE JS900 electric range stovetop works fine but no lights or clock on control panel so the oven cannot be turned on.

You will probably have to replace the main control board- the cooktop operates independently of the ovens, so your symptom is not uncommon... GE Range Stove Oven Oven Control Board WB27T10416

Ge oven jtp18 elements won't heat

The limit switch in a Ge oven usually works or is blown. I would look at the oven sensor located at the back of the oven. It should read approximately 1k ohm at room temperature.

JBP65G GE range oven won't shut off

Electric Ranges have circuit boards that control the power to each burner or element. Circuit board could be faulty. I would not mess with electricity unless you know what you are doing. Call a certified repair specialist or the manufacturer if under warranty. Good Luck

GE JBS55W0J3WW Electric oven will not heat up. None of the 4 elements on the top or the bake or broil elements will power on. The clock, oven light, timer, hot cooktop and oven on lights all power on as...

Check to make sure you have 240v at your receptacle. Lights, clock, timer, will still work with 120v, while the elements need 240v. Start by checking your breakers to make sure that one of the two breakers feeding your oven hasn't tripped.

Turned on self clean on my GE Spectra JBP24B0B4WH Range

Hello Cliff Hendershot,

One USA manual ... said turn off power for 10 minutes
(sounds reasonable after looking up cost of control board)...

USA websites are not responding to your number.
Closest I could get was to a $78 (us dollar) control panel

~~

I could NOT get a good READ on your JBP24... page 8
So I attached a JBP19 (below)... Page 12.

The most COMMON reason to FAIL after a cleaning cycle
is your OVEN CONTROL is "off normal"

(You still do not have your MANUAL MODE restored).

Normal = "AUTOMATIC" LIGHT Off (NOT LIT)

Check your "oven controls"

else

Oven elements do break during routine use...
Check both roast & bake elements for continuity.

GE Electric Spectra Oven botton element will not heat

If only one element does not work, then test heating element continuity using a multimeter.
If oven does not bake or broil, then test temp probe.
If there is nothing wrong with elements and temp probe , then test wiring harness to control panel and timer control board.

Enter the model number on one of two websites below to get parts and diagrams for your appliance:
