Bit of a Video enthisiast but new to audio so any help appreciated. Found a JVC TD-W718 cassette decks/processor in late uncles garage. Got the unit, which is switching on, and two speakers but no cables except mains. can someone advise what cable/connector type I need to pick up and see if this is working properly as looks like an awesome machine. Tight budget as always. Help appreciated
Hello Paul, what you have found is a cassette recorder rewriter of two mechanisms, commonly called "Double Cassette"
to be able to listen or record, you would have to connect it to an amplifier that has a Tape input
You can not connect directly to the speakers, unless the speakers have their own amplifier, if so, you would need a cable from two RCA to two RCA
I hope you serve my comment

whew..that's not as simple as it looks. You'll need a pin out configuration guide, if one exists, or you'll need to make one. The power interface from front panel, is usually unique to each Dell, so its' not likely to swap over.
got backup for that Dell?

You need to run a digital audio cable or a Toslink fiber-optic audio cable from your cable box or DVR directly to your home theater system. You will not get 5.1 out of your TV set.

You can solve this problem by purchasing a PS/2 to USB adaptor which you should be able to find for $1 at most tech shops, however it is advised to purchase a new USB Mouse as they function much better with these new computers than the old PS/2 mice.

thanks for that - the unit has the older 6.35mm connectors so i bought a 6.35mm to 2 rca adapter and connected to my amp and working.
perhaps someone can help me withn the speakers. these each have two 6.35mm inputs. my amp/current speakers are just the type where yiu wind the wire around a screw and screw down to hold in place. What can I do to get the speakers with 6.35mm inputs working with my amp
Any help appreciated
