My dell inspiron 1545 cannot connect to internet as it says i have no network adapters installed. How do i do this

Hi Anon
Your laptop should come with an Ethernet connection as well as wireless connections, try making a wired connection via your Ethernet port, these are usually more reliable than wireless connections.
When I have experienced these sort of problems it is usually because of a missing driver.
Check that you have the proper drivers for your internet connections installed, these should come on a disk that is supplied with your laptop.
Finally check this link for Microsoft's official network trouble shooter.

Suddenly unable to connect to wireless network

If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wirelessconnection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptopprobably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and thenclick Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless cardon the laptop.

Hi, I have reinstalled my window XP SP3 but after reinstalling window my wireless(Adapter name: dell wirless 1395 WLAN mini-card) is not working properly. I have installed latest driver on my Dell...

Verify that you have the correct type of authentication in wireless- if your router is set to WPA2, then you would have to go under the connection properties > security tab to change it to match that setup. If that does not work, then the issue may be that the wireless card is defective and starting to fail.

Wireless connection to internet

Hi,
I just got it all working [new notebook running Vista], connecting to the net via the telkom 5102G - with a PC running XP connecting via LAN.

The 5102G comes ready configured with a network key / code [stuck on the back] so use that to connect to the router - once you've connected it'll come up with limited connectivity.

I then ran the firmware upgrade from http://www.telkomphones.co.za/5102g.htm
To do this, download and unpack the thing. In your browser, go to 10.0.0.2 [for the router config] and click on firmware and follow the instructions.

Once this is done - disconnect and reconnect the vista laptop connection. Open your browser and simply click on tools and uncheck the tickbox alongside "work offline".

I know that sounds ridiculous but that's exactly what I did and I'm surfing fine.

Now... just need to share files and printer and we're 100%.

Hope that helps.

New Vista laptop and problems setting up wireless

Hi,

Chances are the wireless portion of the trendnet software is not compatible with vista. I would uninstall the trendnet software or let windows control the wireless portion of it.

Check to see if you are using any encryption ie. wep or wpa or wpa-tsk. If you are then you will need to enter the network key in windows.

good luck

smeags.
