Poulan Pro 22" does not mulch!

I bought a Poulan Pro 22" self-propelled mower and it does not mulch right. It leaves my lawn looking like a hay field. What do I need to do?

When you mulch you can only cut 1/3 of the grass off. If the grass is 3" high you can only cut 1" off.If you are cutting more grass of than you are leaving there is no place to hide the clippings.A general rule is if you notice clippings and clumps beginning to lay set the mower up one notch at a time until the clippings are hardly noticeable. If you like a real low cut then mulching is probably not for you,you will probably want to bag the grass instead.Hope this helps.

I just inherited a Poulan Pro Electric 625 Series Self-Propelled Lawn Mower. I used it once...it started quickly but the self-propelled function doesn't seem to work very well. I have had other...

This sounds like a simple belt adjustment. Look in the area where the belt is . Look to see if there is an adjusting screw, or a movable pulley, or just something that will tighten the belt. Lift the mower and look underneath the mower deck. This may be where the adjustment may be. If you can't find the area of adjustment, then you may have to bring in to the repair guy. Either way it's cheaper than a new mower. GOOD LUCK>

Looking for 22" blade for a Poulan - PO550N22SH - PN 961120080 - where can I buy a lawnmower blade? Can find the number on the internet, but can't find a dealer that sells this product.

Your Poulan Pro mower is made by American Yard Products and the parts will interchange directly with Craftsman 22" mowers. You should be able to find a replacement at your local Sears store. All of these part #s are also 22" AYP blades:
AYP #'s
406713
192682
157101
335256
114886

Oregon #
95-043
95-042
95-055
95-023

The different #'s should all fit. Some of them are bagging style blades (high lift) while others are designed to mulch.

Where is the oil drain plug for a poulan self propelled 22 inch 625 series mower

remove spark plug wire from plug, tip machine on its side.look under blade for a threaded plug with a square head where bottom of motor protrudes through deck.on most models you can simply tip machine over far enough to allow oil to drain out the dipstick[filler]tube.
