I am looking for a remote code for the emerson LCD to work with the Comcast remote...any suggestions?
NEED TV CODE FOR SCIETIFIC ATLANTA REMOTE 8560
First this is for anyone using a Scientific Atlanta cable box assuming your cable company is giving out these newer remotes. I just got a new 8300HDC box from my local cable company in Largo, FL (Tampa Bay market) along with a new remote. My cable company is Bright House Networks.
The remote details are below and also keep in mind that all remotes I've had from BHN before have failed to work with this LCD TV set.
The remote is a CLIKR -5 Cable Remote Control. These are the model numbers on the operating manual that came with the remote.
UR5U-8700L & UR5U-8720L.
I used the last code under the TV section under the brand Emerson. This code is 514. Also this code is the first code under the list of codes for section "TV-LCD & Plasma TVs" just so you know.
I know this doesn't help anyone with another brand box but I'm sure this specific type of remote (remote with working code) will very soon be available to most if not all markets with Scientific Atlanta boxes which is quite a bit of people.
Also after entering in the code but before pressing the "TV" button to confirm the code if you try and use the volume keys it will only work one press at a time so you cannot hold the volume keys to turn the volume up or down very fast. However once you press the "TV" button to confirm the code you can press and hold the volume keys to turn the volume up or down very fast. The power button, volume buttons and the mute button all work using this code.
At least this gives most here hope that other boxes (ie Motorola cable boxes etc.) might also be getting newer remotes with working codes while Scientific Atlanta boxes currently have newer remotes with working codes available to at least one major cable market. Also the Tampa Bay market is one of the top 5 cable markets in terms of customers.
So for those of you with Scientific Atlanta cable boxes making a trip to your local office could be worth your time now right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Below are the codes for use on Emersons remote. I believe the codes are the same for any remote. Haven't tried them yet, but same problem as ladyenglar
Had to get a replacement from emerson, then that wouldn't work so the receiver was bad. Had to return the tv to store (first week I owned) and start over.. That was in June 2007. Been working great ever since.
Which code? The Only Code for the TV (Emerson 32" HD) is for the parental block.....mode....

Try with the philips this method:
Manually turn on the tv or the device to be controlled.
Push and hold the code search button until the red lights stand.Now release the button push and release the tv button,then you got to push and release the on off button until the device turn off stop push and release the enter button.
You might need to push the on off button 1 to 150 times.

I have the same problem , the only solution I found is to purchase a remote where you can record the signal from the OEM that came with the TV.

We lost the remote for our Emerson HDTV 32" Model # HLC320EM8A. I have bought and tried 4 (no kidding) different universal remotes and not one of them will work with this TV. I went through all the Emerson codes listed in the universal remote manuals and I also did the search. This is crazy. Where can I order an Emerson remote replacement? or What universal remote can I get for this TV that will work?

My original remote stopped working. I've called customer service from both the universal remote company and Emerson neither of which were of any help. Emerson just says to keep trying remotes til I find the right one and didn't know if I could order a replacement ( WTF) and the universal remote customer service says my tv's sensor must be bad....wow how can the make a tv cannot be paired with a replacement or provide a place whereas you could purchase a new one.

I see one the owners manual that this particular set# was reconditioned by Funai Corp. Have tried all their codes as well as some other brands on their website. Still nothing!!
