I suspect if we change out the dual inlet water valve (Part #304374 on my GE but it appears to be same part#WR57X10051 on many GE refrigerators). i just bought one on Amazon and will make the part swap wed or thur when it arrives. keep our fingers crossed.

we have really hard water and the pressure is barely legal for city water. i suspect the valve got too much calcium buildup. all our appliances that have water in them go bad in 5-7 years. faucets, water heater, washing machine all replaced in our new home since 2006.

im also going to change the filter. like you we have water from the dispenser. but the ice maker is not getting water. i suspected the inlet valve or hoses. i disconnected the valve and lines, jiggled them, smacked them a couple times and re-installed. it made ice for a couple days then stopped. im buying a replacement valve and i bet it will fix the problem permanently.

I have had to replace all the orange wires that go from the control panel in the door to the electrical junction box in the hinge on top of the fridge freezer. I am disapointed that the wires have broken so soon on this 3 year old fisher and paykel fridge freezer. I think it is a design fault as the wires all move in the top hinge ever time the door is opened. I think that F&P should use rubber coated not plastic coated wire they should use wire that is more flexible.

check your owners manual for a water filter, make sure trip arm isn't stuck closed and not letting water in to freeze.

Artica side by side fridge, about 5 years old. just started making a sound like a hammer drill. but everything is still working seemingly fine, can ya please help me? [email protected]

I assume that you have the model with the ice maker in the door.
The sound you describe would lead me to suspect the ice-maker is stuck/broken. Look and see if the ice ejector bar is hung up on a piece of ice or something else.
If nothing else, turn off the ice maker by raising the metal fill bar arm and see if the noise stops. It could also be broken gear inside the ice eject mechanism.
If this is not it post again referencing that you tried the above.

Our ice maker is making 5-10 cubes per day. Ice

OK, Have a look (if you can) and see if one of the water jets might be broken, or if there might be a defect in the tray. I can't help any further i'm afraid.

Ice maker stopped after electric shutoff

You may have a problem with the computer control board in the ice maker.  Try this.  Turn off the icemaker for about 2 minutes.
Turn on the ice maker and press the clear button.  Press and hold this button for 12 seconds to get it to force extract.  This will confirm that the motors will work and push the ice cubes out.  Afterwards, let it run by itself.  If it still doesn't make ice, you will need to replace the icemaker.
