I can't get my HP Pavilion zd8000 laptop to connect to my Sony Ericsson k800i mobile phone via Bluetooth. My phone has no problems connecting to other Bluetooth devices. Any ideas anyone?

When I first set up my HP Pavilion, I disabled bluetooth, because I had no devices. Now have device and want to connect, but no bluetooth icon in systray. Device manager showes HP integrated module with Bluetooth wireless technology, but cannot make it display any useful info. Cannot enable. The computer have 3 buttons. One is the DVD, the second is de Media Player, and the third is the wireless devices switch. If this button is not lighted, all wireless connections are off (both WIFI and Bluetooth).

you can send theme by selecting it and then selecting send through bluetooth. in case the theme is copyrighted you won't be able to send the theme. Bluetooth has limitation of 15 meters hence you cannot connect to internet directly via bluetooth you have to use gprs alongwith bluetooth to connect to internet. you cannot browse others pc or mobile via your mobile hence there is no question of downloading. but you can send themes from others mobile via bluetooth to yours.

From the Menu screen, select Settings
Scroll across to the Connectivity tab and select Bluetooth
Scroll down to Phone Name and press select
Enter the new name for your K800i
Once you’ve done this, you can turn Bluetooth on to make you visible to other devices by following these steps

Press and hold the 'call' (big) button on your bluetooth device. First it will blinks once, keep holding, then it will turn to steady blue. This is the 'pairing' status.
When the phone found your device, select the device and enter the passcode (usualy 0000 (4 times zero))if required.
The steady blue light on the device should go off and blinks every couple of seconds.
Next time you switch on the bluetooth device it will be automaticaly recognized by the phone.
You can transfer only media files (don't know why). To do it, go to media, prees "menu", select "recieve using bluetooth" and after that send from sony ericsson.
hi there 46-79 , you dont say how you are trying to connect the Sony W810i , are you using USB cable or bluetooth to try and connect the W810i ? if your using bluetooth you will need to purchase a bluetooth dongle for the laptop so it can communicate with your mobile. If you are using a usb cable to connect the laptop to your Sony W810i make sure you are using the proper type of usb cable , some usb cables are not suitable for connecting mobiles to a PC or a laptop.visit sony ericcsons website and sign up for free to find out the comaptible types of usb cable for your mobile...
