SOURCE: brad nailer not firing nail...can hear brief air noise upon pulling the trigger

Porter cable makes a number of brad nailers (18 gauge) that very quickly suffer from the problem that you are having. You did not mention the model number of your gun but if it is one of these, (bn125a, bn200a, ns100a) kit # 60061 will fix the problem. It costs between 25 and 30 dollars. Google that part number or order from www.dewalt.com. Dewalt owns the porter cable brand. Before you order the kit, check that the driver blade is not bent and stuck. The driver should travel freely down the cylinder. When you install parts, use Danco silicone grease to lube (availabel at Lowes in the plumbing department) If your model # is different from those mentioned above, please email me and I will recommend a repair.

SOURCE: Bostitch nail gun loss of pressure, won't fire nail

Hello. I can help you. The nail gun you have uses 18 gauge brads. I would use only original Bostitch 18 gauge.

The one MM of difference you mention is the reason why you do not have the pressure you did have. Get rid of those 31MM brads and get the 18 gauge. Home Depot carries the Bostitch line. I would go there or to homedepot.com

SOURCE: nail gun wont fire

First - the air pressure has to be high enough - check the regulator on the tank to make sure it is delivering in excess of 60-70 psi (which I am sure you have already done).

If you have dry fired these guns (i.e. shot them off with no nails in them while you were lubricating them maybe) the mechanism inside could be damaged. I had that happen to one of my nailers (same brand). That was when I learned not to dry fire them...

Since both of them are not working though I would be more inclined to look at the air supply first.

SOURCE: IM250 Paslode straight brad nailer, fan wont shut off

My paselode was doing the same thing, and I followed all of the cleaning instructions, but the problem continued.

If it was left alone for a minute, it would fire again, so I removed the cover over the trigger assy, and checked the spark plug wire connection. The trigger came out, and during reassembly, I noticed that the electrical switch was hanging, and slowly pushing back out.

I cleaned and lightly spray/oiled the switch pin, and voila.........works like a charm.

I have a 19.2V Craftsman brad nailer that wont fire. The battery is fully charged and works in other tools. The LED light will turn on for about 1 second and then turn off. Any ideas?

not completely familiar with that exact model but on other ones if there is a jam it wont fire or was jammed and not reset, meaning the driver( what drives the nail) has to be in the up most position. so use a long thin rod and push it back to the top and check that the magazine has nails or that the feed is good. if want to try with no nails you have to leave the magazine open. but should work with charged battery and make sure any adjustment switches are on or off cant be in a middle position. but know from the dewalt framer cordless the driver has to be up before it will fire.

Mastercraft brad nailer model 57-7900-2 5/8" - 2"

No experience of Mastercraft brad nailers but if fires with out depressing nose tool is dangerous and should be returned to manufacturer. Dewalt make battery powered brad guns and recently produced a battery framing nailer. I would not say that other nail guns are exactly cheap if they are beware they may not be up to the pressures excerted on the whilst firing.

How to lube bostitch bt200 brad nailer. dry fires every other shot

This isn't actually answering your question, but I couldn't figure out how to just post a question.
I have Bostitch BT200. For probably 15 years. Haven't used it much. Mostly used nails abou 1 1/4 inches. But recent project needed 5/8 inch. It will fire 1 fine. But won't fire another unless I pull the magazine open and push it in. Then it will fire 1 only. Have to open and close magazine every time to fire 1 single nail. It fires longer brads fine. What can I do?

My Senco SFN1 finish nailer will not shoot a nail. When the trigger is pulled air comes out but no nail is shot. Thanks,Steve L

Not sure about Senco but most have latch you can open to expose firing mechanism. Nail sometimes gets jammed and will not allow driver to fire or if not nail push driver ****** all the way back into gun then see if gun will fire.

Mastercraft Brad nailer piston always fires damaging finish but nail gets randomly shot. Thought it was a indent before nail shot to indent nail since it mostley shoots nails after second shot but lately...

The dial on the top of the gun is most likely the depth adjustment for the nails, this should solve the driver damaging the work piece. Make sure the nails are the correct guage for the nailer you have.
