Have a Maytag Quiet Series 200 dishwasher at my office and unfortunately, I'm in charge of it. We use Cascade powder and put the dishwasher on every night. We have a lot of large drinking glasses and mugs that do not come out clean. The glasses have a chalky film that does not come off even when scrubbed. Some glasses come out perfect and others horrible looking. I don't want to try something new and be responsible for another problem, as it's up to my office manager. I've read vinegar may help. Any suggestions? Please help! I'm getting worn out trying to get these glasses clean and spending lots of time at the dishwasher! If you need more stats, I have the max load number and some features written down.
Thank you.
It is not your dishwasher. The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.
This is a very good dishwasher,I get calls on it for not cleaning all the time, but it usually ends up being a user issue because the manual doesn't go in depth enough on usage,First of all you have to use rinse aid in this unit or glasses won't come out looking clean, second you have to be aware of how much detergent goes into it because it's really easy to use too much.A good way to see if your using too much is too start a cycle without adding detergent let it fill and start to wash for about a minute then open the door,if it is full of suds your using too much, you can flush it out by starting a cycle(No detergent)and hitting the cancel drain button after about a minute several times in a row.then cut back the detergent by about a third on the next several loads and try the test again.
If the film is chalky meaning you can wipe your finger across it and it comes off,too much detergent is most likely the cause.
Also make sure the unit is getting hot water from the start of the cycle a good way to make sure is to run the water in a near by sink till it gets hot before starting the dishwasher.
If you have really hard water you may need to run either some CLR (1/2 cup no dishes in unit)through it or one of the dishwasher cleaners made to remove calcium, lime and rust found in the dish soap isle...Hope this helps
I have the same problem, but it only affects the glasses (which are the only things upside down which was a hint hint to me). I done all the typical things (checked filters, vinegar, checked sprayers, etc). I even grabbed a garden hose and back flushed the upper rack water channel way in the back. Thats when I noticed only one of the holes had a rubber flap (lower was missing). I removed the plastic assembly. Really easy, clips on the side, it snaps in and found the rubber flaps had unglued themselves. I cleaned, and am regluing with Sneaker Goop. My thought is the lower flap was perhaps blocking the water flow (less likely), or the upper flap was not sealing and allowing enuf water pressure to spin the upper rack sprayer. I'll post results as I know there's a lot of folks with the same issue.
