My samsung e900 was working fine 1 minute then seconds later it had a phone with a cross through it, my manual says that its out of service area. i can not take or make calls the same with texts, what does out of service area mean and can i fix it?

Hi,

1.) Try increasing the volume ( I am sure you must have done it earlier). But try doing it again while you are actually on call.

2.) If the above dosn't work, there is no manual setting to it, we would definately get the speaker checked/replaced.

I don't know on the e900... but U700 has this problem when the flex cable is broken.. see this guide.

I faced the same problem with my E900 phone, which i bought in Russia. Reflash didn't work for me (as it didn't affect any settings). Then I tried full reset of all settings and now the phone works fine.

!!! WARNING: These will delete all of your data, contacts and settings !!!
So save all you need using Samsung PC Studio.

To perform full reset type the following code in standby mode (as you usually dial number):
*2767*3855#

GET MESSEGE CENTRE NUMBER FROM SERVICE PROVIDER & INSERT THE SAME NUMBER IN SETTINGS GOOD LUCK !!

Type *2767*3855# and this will re-set the phone. Sometimes it resets your wap settings too.
