I'am assuming your working on a Windows XP platform.

Go to Control Panel - Sound and audio devices - audio tab - and then in the first section "Sound Playback" you choose your multimedia monitor - apply and it should work.

if your multimedia monitor does not appear in the list, it means you have to install driver for the multimedia monitor so it should come with cd that you need to install in that case.

No sound from this monitor. I have everything plugged in , volume icon is turned all the way, mute is off, adjusted speaker levels, etc on my desktop.

Firstly,

You need to check if the green cable from the computer tower is blugged into the back of the monitor (The cable looks the same at both the ends) this is for the output to come through the monitor.

If that is plugged in and if not working, Try a headphone on the tower and check if the sound is coming from the headphone, If yes, You will have to adjust the volume on the monitor or the speaker of the monitor might have gone bad. If there is no sound coming in, Then the problem is with the tower and not the monitor.

Hi, my Dell Vostro 200 monitor isn't working; when I boot up the light is blue and everything else seems to work but the monitor says 'Entering power save mode' or something and it shuts off. I can't get...

Your monitor is most likely fine. That message is the monitor telling you it's not getting any video signal from the computer.

If you're hearing all the sounds that go with a normal startup (usually a beep from the motherboard, then hard drive activity, finally the normal Windows startup sound through the speakers), and seeing that message, then you may have a monitor problem. You can try another monitor as a test.

The trouble is probably that the computer is turning on, but not actually starting up. This may be due to power supply, memory, processor or motherboard problems. Or one of the drives or expansion cards connected to the motherboard may be keeping the system from starting.

Make sure the memory modules are firmly seated in their sockets, and disconnect everything else but the power supply. If the motherboard, processor and memory are working, the system will start and you'll see something on the monitor. Then you can start reconnecting parts and see when the problem returns.

I cannot get any sound from my ViewSonic VA1912wb Monitor. I have everything plugged in the mute turned off showing 100% volume the green jack in back of monitor and green match on computer. No sound from...

You may need to load the monitor drivers.

I assume your PC sound is OK.

When you are plugging the green lead in the Moniotr / PC do you hear any noise from the monitor?? if not may be faulty.

Try plugging a friends set of speakers into the back of your PC.

My sound doesn't work when i plug in my speakers or earphones, but on the monitor it says everything is working properly.

Start> control panel>sound>volume.

Be sure the mute option for microphone is not checked and that the volume slider isn't at its min setting/or muted/

Happy listening.

I installed w1907 monitor all fine except now I have no sound

DVI is a hardware interface. It's a type of plug.

Does your monitor have speakers built into it?

On many computers, the output for the sound is very near the output for the monitor. Is it possible that you loosened the wire for the sound when you installed the monitor (plugged it in), or unplugged the sound altogether and plugged it back into the wrong place? The outbound sound hole on most, but not all, computers is green.

All computers have at least two places to plug in sound, most have 3, and the newer machines have 6. If you are unsure which is the correct hole to plug that sound wire into, you can play something on your computer that makes sound for a while (like a song) and move the plug from one to the other until sound is heard.

If you have 6 holes that the sound wire fits, you most likely have software on your computer that pops up and tells you were you have plugged it in.

If the speakers are built into the new monitor, check the monitor for controls and ensure that the volume controls are not all the way down.

All of these solutions are hardware solutions. Now, we have software solutions:

Open the control panel and find Sounds and Audio controls. Open that.

Check to see that nothing has "mute" checked.

Check also to see that the sound levels are high enough to hear something.

Good luck.

Samsung 226bw weird display problems

At first you should clarify if your GPU or LCD is broken.
Do You have any chance to try another monitor with your Graphicadapter or to try your monitor on a different PC?
Moreover you should try it with a new cable.

The symptom of weird symbols sounds most likely like a overheated or wrong-plugged Graphicadapter
