GE Mini Wireless Optical Mouse HO98763

I purchased this mouse last week. Installed the batteries, plugged the USB receiver in - everything worked perfectly from the start. Two days later, I noticed my mouse wasn't responding. I found that the LED was no longer red, so assumed that the power was off. Pulling the receiver out for a time and returning it solved the problem for a while. This happened twice. Then the power didn't return at all.

I took this to mean that the batteries had died. Earlier today I purchased replacement batteries and some rechargeable batteries. Neither disposable or rechargeable had any effect. I've tried pressing the connect switch on the USB receiver to no avail. Rebooting hasn't helped.

The rapid loss of functionality resulting in complete inoperability tells me that there may be a short. So it may mean that while I was futzing with the USB reciver, the power came back on its own and the problem has nothing to do with the receiver. There is no on/off switch on this mouse that I can locate.

I'm not an expert and certainly don't think myself to be. Perhaps someone out there can give me a hand? Much appreciated.

Two findings of note: First, I located a "connect" button on the underside of the mouse. Pushing this did nothing. However, I did play with that, the USB receiver, and even tried to switch the batteries. I found that the batteries were warm. Not sure if that means anything. Thanks again.

Did you try pushing the link button on the bottom of the mouse (right after pushing the connect switch on the receiver?)

Optical wireless mini mouse 98763 feature #9 is

I had all the same problems listed in fixit and found that all it took was placing all NEW batteries in the mouse.
Press the blue light button on the USB and the little black reset button on the bottom of the mouse at the same time. Worked good from there on.

I have a GE wireless optical mouse that has decided no to work

I had the same problem till I discovered there are two buttons (not just one) you have to push to re-link the mouse and the USB receiver. Plug the little receiver in, push the tiny "connect" circle on the receiver (which is actually a button I guess), then wait for the red light to start blinking. Then press the little link button on the bottom of the mouse.

Fairly new mouse (new batteries also)not working. Solid blue light when plugged into USB port but cursor will not move at all when click mouse buttons or scroll bar. Rebooting system nor unplugging USB...

First make sure your mouse is installed properly. Go to Device Manager and see if it lists the mouse and has no conflicts. Also, try a different USB port, especially if it doesn't show up. If your receiver and mouse have reset or connect buttons on them you'll need to push those also. try alternate batteries. if none of these suggestions can solve your problem you may be looking at a defective mouse.

How do u connect? I plugged the receiver to USB port but not working? Is there any other instructions besides plugging it in?

Make sure the batteries are installed correctly into the mouse. Did you try the software cd if it came with one? Also, the mouse and/or reciever may have a "sync" button on them so try that too.

GE mini wireless (HO98763) mouse won't work - power light not on.

My advice is to return mouse to store and get a replacement, remember to take bill with you as proof of purchase. If the same fault happens again you could ask for money back. It is technically possible to ask for money back staright away as this rapid falure shows that the itme is "not fit for purpose". Hope this helps.
