SOURCE: Repeated Date/Time prompt.

Hopefully, you have already resolved this, but if not...

What you will need is to replace the date/time battery for your camera. It is a 3V battery that you can purchase anywhere for $1-$5 and it slides into a small compartment located in your main battery compartment. If you look into the battery area on your camera, you will see a little tab that has CR1220 or something like that. Slide this out and you will see what I am referring to. These batteries should not have to be replaced more than once a decade, however sometimes in rare occurrences, they will die prematurely. It's an inconvenience, but an easy one to remedy.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: lens error

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

SOURCE: just baught pny-4gb sdhc card, asks to format-no luck

You may have the card locked so that the format isn't taking. Verify that there isn't something that is physically preventing the format. If the slide is in the locked position move it to the opposite side.

I have a FinePix A900 camera with a 1 GB SD card. I connected a cable in the A/V Out to watch the photos on a TV set. At this moment something went wrong. The camera LCD becomes black and no picture was...

First of all, it is never advisable to copy a picture from the computer to a memory card or camera. Most of the time, it will corrupt the card and sometimes the camera. Second, the procedure for connection to a tv needs to follow a detailed procedure. This is different for each tv and camera. For example, on my tv, my camera and tv need to be off, I make the connection, turn on the tv, set the tv menu to "photos", turn on the camera, and then follow the on-screen prompts from there. If I change that order, I have problems.

I cannot download my pictures from My camera to my pc. Camera is a Finepix S5600 and I dont have the manufacture cd anymore

Couple ways to do this: but both ways are possible in a windows environment: in Brief
1. attach the mfg USB cable to camera and PC - PC should find camera once turned on and prompt you with how would like with proceed download
2. take memory card out of camera and insert into card reader and attach to PC - PC will recognize it as a hard drive or thumb drive memory card

Hi

I only use WINDOWS so this solution is not applicable for MAC or LINUX

1) Connect cable to camera ( camera is turned off). There is a picture on page 131 of the manual
2) Connect other end of cable to PC ( PC should already be on)
3) Turn camera on by pressing PLAY button on the back and holding until camera starts. This method of turning on and off means the lens will not operate and so is ideal for when connecting to computer. Your camera LCD should like up and it should display "USB" on a white background.
4) If you have not installed the drivers (from the installation CD-ROM) then windows will try to install the software and depending on the WINDOWS version then you may be prompted to insert the CD-ROM.
5) Once drivers are installed you should get a confirmation that hardware is ready for use. If you have already installed the drivers and Finepix viewer then finepix viewer should open automatically. Finepix crashes on my PC (Windows VISTA is rubbish!) so I just use windows explorer.
6) The camera appears as an external drive in windows exploere. Look for FinePix S8000fd. Expand the folder contents until you get to a folder called 100_FUJI. The pictures from the camera are in here.
7) Use copy and paste to copy from Camera to a folder of your choice. I have a folder called "Photos" and other folders inside it arranged by date.
8) When you have finished you must turn the camera off before disconnecting. Press and hold the PLAY button until LCD swithces off and disconnect cable from PC then camera

Hope this helps

Fuij FinePix F410 Digicam

Hey mtangobung,
What this prompt means is that your memory card needs to be formatted, or the memory card contacts have somehow gotten soiled and the camera is not detecting the memory card. I would first try formatting the memory card in the camera, but remember this will erase all the images on the card so upload any images on the card to a computer first. If reformatting doesn't work I would clean the memory card contacts with an eraser. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Software driver problem

Do any other devices connect successfully to that same USB port?
If no, try another USB port.
If yes, when you reinstalled your software, did you uninstall first? If not, see if you can. Once uninstalled, verify that the device is removed via Device Manager.
Once removed, if on XP or Vista, try to connect using the built in system drivers.
If this does not work, try reinstalling your drivers, but be sure to check for system prompts when you connect. If you do not respond to those prompts, the device will not mount.
Let me know how it turns out.
