My machine keeps shutting off, with this code, and I have to restart by opening the front panel. I know it has something to do with the toner or sub-hopper. I'm very handy at fixing thing, but not a tech. I don't exactly know how to pull this out and clean it, or is it something worse. Its just a machine for our non-profit and not worth a big bill to fix. The machine was a donation. I just installed a new toner bottle a few weeks ago and it ran fine hundreds of copies afterwards.

The error code C0072 deals with the toner hopper. I would remove the toner bottle and close the front door and wait till the copier comes to ready and make a copy, if it works install the toner and see what happens. The problem may be in the toner bottle holder.... There is a "HP" sensor that may be dirty or broken. Good Luck
Power off the machine. Then remove the toner bottle be careful the hole might be on the bottom toner is going to go everywhere. Then close the cover and turn on the machine. Let the machine go through it normal routine. IF code appears open close front door,When it asks for toner install the toner correctly. If THE KUNB on the side of the bottle is damage put a new one in that KUNB is what the toner motor uses to turn the bottle if it damage you get a code. If that does not work you might have a bad motor or the home sensor or actuator for the toner bottle is bad worse case the control board is bad
A C0072 error code deals with the toner bottle. Remove the toner bottle and close the front door and let the machine warm up. Make one copy and install the toner bottle again. The toner holder may have not been in the correct position. If it continues, you may need to call a service person. Good Luck
You did not give the model number? So, I'm going to guess, did you just add a new toner? If so remove the new toner bottle and close the door / cover and see if the copier comes to ready? If so, make a copy and when the copy is done install the toner bottle. The error code C0072 deals with the toner hopper motor. If the code will not clear, then you may have a broken gear in the hopper drive unit. Good Luck
The toner bottle is in wrong, take out the toner bottle and close the front door. wait until the motor stops running or until the copier asks for toner. open the door, the bottle should go in with the hole up.
Are you certain it is a Minolta 6100? The only 6100 I am aware of is a Magicolor 6100 color printer. My service manual for that model lists no service code C0072.
C0072 is a common Minolta copier code which pertains to the toner add system. I had a service call the other day for C0072 and it was the toner cartridge not fully "locked" in to it's receptacle, so you can start there. Opening and closing the front door on most Minolta's will reset this code.

C0072 is aerror code for the sub hopper unit. It is having a hard time adding toner or that the toner motor is ON for to long. It is having a hard time kepping up with the ATDC. The M2 is a counter, it can be reset in service mode, but major parts have to be replaced to clear it..
OK CAREFULLY take out the toner bottle, then open close the front door, then power off the machine, wait 10 sec, then power the machine up with the toner bottle out, only add the bottle when it ask for toner
