I removed batteries, and now images are gone, can I retrieve them?

Perhaps you can try taking the memory card out of the camera, insert it to your computer and run a photo recovery program. If you appear to be a Mac user, feel free to try this Photo Recovery app.

What does out of memory message mean on my nikon coolpix camera?

You have two questions here. Out of memory could mean that your memory card is full and you cannot take any additional pictures until you either replace the card with a new one, or delete or reformat the card you have in it. It could also mean that your card is "locked". Check for the little toggle switch on the side of the card to be sure it is in the "unlocked" position. Or it could mean that you do NOT have a memory card in the camera at all and you're using the very small internal memory your camera comes with (it usually will only hold about 4-5 images. If this is the case, put an external memory card in the camera.

The second part of the question deals with uploading to your computer. There are a whole host of reasons that can cause this. Here are a few.
1. Your software is configured incorrectly. It might be set for only a certain type of image (jpg, RAW, TIFF). It might be set to accept duplicate images and your images are already uploaded (somewhere on the machine).
2. It might be that your cord or connection is defective.
3. It might be that the computer is trying to find the external memory card and you don't have one.
4. You software might be looking for videos instead of images. Check your software configuration to be sure its set for image upload.
5. Be sure your battery is fresh. Some cameras will not upload with a weak battery.
6. The camera or software could be defective.

My Olympus Tough-3000 will not upload the software the videos and pictures are on the hard drive but not the software

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Memory card showing 'no image' after trying to upload

Sounds like you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function when you disconnected the USB cable. This can corrupt the card and even the camera. You could try using a separate card reader to download the pics from the card. If that works, and the pics are safely downloaded, then you should format the card in the camera to erase and optimize it. If it doesn't work, take the card to a Walmart that has a Kodak Picture Kiosk and it should be able to read your card. You can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Then, format the card in the camera.

Lost Software

There is an alternate way of downloading images from the memory card from the camera.
Get a USB memory card reader, remove the memory card from the camera, insert it into the card reader, then plug the card reader into the USB port of your computer. You will now see card reader as an external memory device, open the folder and copy your photos onto your hard drive.

Photo upload

Hey little rosie,
If you don't have a cord you are definitely missing a cord. With the camera there should have been a cd with the necessary software to upload your pictures, and there should have been a cord to connect your camera to a USB port on your computer. Another option you have is to get a card reader from a retail store, and use the card reader to upload your images to your computer. Make sure the card reader you get is compatible with Memory Stick memory cards, and make sure you have the cameras' software installed on your computer prior to uploading your images. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
