We have a Kodak i4000 scanner. We replaced the tire assembly on the feed module and separation roller. Now we are getting a U7 message and the elevator is not going up.

U7 says there is too much paper in the input elevator (we have only one sheet in there at the moment) or the feed module is not inserted properly. We pulled the feed module out again (several times) and reinserted it. It still doesn't work. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Pixma i4000 - manual feed picks up 2 to 3 sheets at a time

Get a window cleaning product such as windowlene and a soft but LINT FREE cloth. Remove any paper from the feeder and turn off the machine

Look into to sheet feeder and identify any rubber areas. There should be a rubber pick up wheel and just beyond it a separator pad. There may also be a cork pad in the vicinity.

Use your cloth well dampened and clean all these item as best you can. You can rotate the wheels but ensure you go the correct direction and do not force anything that does not want to move. This will be chore as access is only easy for pixies. Once you have then cleaned and dried off, replace the paper and restore the power.

Try running a print job and see if it makes much difference. If it helps, then you will know that the pick up wheel and separator pad are worn out and could do with replacing.

The paper jam error is related to this issue as the printer is expecting the leading edge of the paper to pass its sensor and then 297mm later the trailing edge should pass the same point. If the machine feeds more than one sheet, the chances are that the paper length will be altered and the machine thinks a bit has been left behind.

Let me know how you get on

SOURCE: Paper Feed errors on 2400W

Thanks to the Konica Minolta tech: Solution is to use alcohol and a clean wipe or cue-tip on the grey 1/2 moon roller deep inside at the end of the paper feed tray. It is accessessible easily by lifting blue top cover of printer, then pulling out the ink cartridge. There will be a grey 1/2 moon like roller seen when looking at very bottom of cavity. Clean the dust off and all will work fine. You can manually roll the roller to get all faces. The machine will reset it's position so it is not nessary to set back to original position.       Turn the machine on with or without paper. Once the roller has reset it's position, gently push the load of paper into the paper tray to be sure the roller was not keeping the paper from being placed to furthest position toward back of tray.
All is ready for reliable printing once again! Best regards, Danny

SOURCE: Have same printer Cannon Pixma MP160 all in one.

Hello there
You may still have a little bit there some where This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Several pages are feed at time

Depending on the usage of the scanner, you can try cleaning first. Kodak recommends rollers be replaced every 125,000 scans.
1. Open the scanner and use compressed air to gently clean the rollers. If that does not help, use cotton swabs with alcohol to clean off any residue left on the rollers.
2. Replace the rollers. Part numbers can be found here: parts You can order the replacement parts directly from Kodak: 1-800-822-1414 (8AM - 8PM ET)

Scanner has been used for a few years, and is frequently pulling multiple items through at the same time. We have cleaned the rollers with alcohol wipes, and fed the waffle papers through to clean.

If this is a Canon CR-180 or 180II machine then the feed tires need to be replaced. Often if you are using the grey feed tires, the middle one will come loose from the platic hub and cause this problem no matter how much you tighten the tension wheel. The part numbers of the seperatrion roller assembly and the feed tire assembly are as follows.

MG1-3530-000 Seperation roller (has 3 tires)
MF1-4210-000 Feed roller (has 2 tires)

You can also replace the two in the hopper area, they are:

MF1-4352-000
MF1-4353-000

That is a common problem on older machines; hopefully that helps

Fujitsu FI-4220C only scans one page at a time.

The problem is not just to roll over, be changed and separation pad. These two components change very easily and boxes that are delivered and indications for replacement.
These are the codes for parts:
Pad Assembly - Part Number: PA03289-0111
Pick Roller - Part Number: PA03289-0001
After replacement counters to be reset for each Pieces. Open the scanner properties.

Usually have to display a maintenance message on the computer display, such as: separation pad should be replaced.

If there is to scan any messages like that, you have to clean the sensors around the separation pad. They are round and are getting a little inside. Click on the blue button at the top of the ADF and open the lid.

I hope you was helpful.

Does anyone know the difference between a canon ****** roller and an exchanger roller on a canon dr-2080c scanner? I am looking to replace the rollers that are ageing and now "picking" up more than one...

The exchange roller kit has all the tires that pick up the paper in the kit (feed, separation, and pick up tires). I think the other tire you are talking about is just one tire not the set.
Also check to see a switch on the scanner that is used for single feed or multiple feed. If its on single feed it will multi feed all the time. You can clean the tire with rubbing alcohol too, to see if your double feeding goes away.

Canon DR-2080c - Replacing rollers

Check for a switch on the scanner that is made to feed single pages or multiple pages. If it is on single page it can multi jam all the time.
As far as the rollers go there is a pick up roller, separation roller, and a feed roller. You can clean them with rubbing alcohol to see if its indeed the tires that are bad. The exchange kit has all three tires in it that are user replaceable.

HP 4215 won't feed envelopes

I assume you are using the manual feed try, if so there is a tire (rubber) near the center of the tray, just use any penetrating oil (such as triflow or wd-40) and clean the tire. Same thing goes for the tray assembly, there will be one half circle tire (flat on one side round on the other its the round side that needs cleaning).

I620-auto feeding multiple sheet

I opened the hood on the machine, and between the first two intake rollers on the bottom, there is a small rubber strip. This strip comes packaged with a sticky yellow tape to protect the rubber. When it was installed, no one removed this tape. After doing so, the machine feeds great. Hope this helps someone else who may be experiencing a similar feed issue.
